HEADCANON 001 - family / history / present.

Daniel’s family history is all but lost, there’s no real record of it, and no real record of his actual identity. though he has journals of his life written down and hidden away- his real name though important to him isn’t exactly broadcasted, really only relying on the stolen identity of Daniel Thorne, and the nickname for his work in journalism as Ze. 

his dad, he found out, wasn’t the greatest, an alcoholic with anger issues and his mother making excuses for him. 

though his real name is important to him, it does bring up some bad memories, and though he fabricated his past so that he could join the workforce, he still worked hard to be where he is now- even attending university and rushing through the process for his masters.  though his parents death was tragic, an act of random violence by someone who just seemed to want to murder for the hell of it- he understands things happen for a reason, but the thought still lingers in the back of his mind about who he really is- with records still existing of his old life ( and he being presumed dead ) could he really be free from it?  it haunts him really- digging through the past. though he enjoys learning about the fates of others, and writing about them trying to spread information to hopefully catch the killers, he still finds himself repulsive for what he did in his own past.
