The class definitely met my objectives and it really made me understand how to do research on people that you might see as untouchable but are practically feasible to reach out to and get a response . The main thing that I could take away from this month is getting out here and really doing it . The best feeling is landing a interview that you thought was going to be impossible but you did and it went well . Real world experience on how to interview is the best way for you to get into what form of entertainment you are trying to enter and to be taken seriously at the same time .What I am learning from the content  this month how to be more intuitive about my research I conduct and if I choose to make these things a reality then you need to do more hands on research with information that doesn’t exist . Also to make sure that I am understanding that my audience needs the facts and not my opinions.I will continue to make strides in my professional direction as a journalist.

BIG FLOCK Great Artist caught up in misguided behavior
Today is January 19th .
I have had the pleasure of sitting down with Local trap rapper/ artist Big Flock in the Federal Prison in Greenbelt , Maryland for possession of a firearm and intent to distribute drugs .
Big Flock , 24 year old rapper from Upper Maralboro , Maryland . This rapper is the next upcoming star out of PG County , Maryland that the kids love and really look up to as a mentor and someone they should follow. I wanted to discuss some things with Big Flock just to see where is mentality is at from this moment moving forward.
We discuss the struggle growing up in Prince George County , Maryland and how it can really effect your childhood . Big Flock explains in his music it reflects the way he was raise and since he was misguided by his so called “ big homies” or old heads and that is what landed him in prison in the first place . He wrote a letter to the judge that explain how  being in his neighborhood cause him to make bad decisions and at the same time his fight for his survival was what made him make those decisions . “All of the old heads in my hood talk me into doing things that were not right but when I got caught doing these things they were no where to be found.” We continue to talk about the music .
So the basis of the sound and the lyrical content are based upon real life events . Big Flock makes it a point to make sure that relays the message to the kids listening to the music who are not from these circumstance, “This is just music to all you kids in the suburbs . Do not step out here trying to replicate a lifestyle you are not from because it will get you into something you are not built for period.” Big flock explains when he gets out he will be tunnel vision with his music  and move his family out of that neighborhood .

Nipsey The Hustler
Nispey Hussle from Crenshaw and Slauson started his career when he sold his car after reaching a certain caliber in the streets of California. He sold his car to a friend that was really into cars and low riders but he took that money that he got from the car  and bought recording equipment . After coming out with his first mixtape in 2009 and in the streets of California he started getting known for the music he was creating instead of what he was known for previous being successful drug dealer. So when the community saw the transition from dealing to creating his new opportunity in music the support was immense . The community elders even notice the type of time he was putting into the music . Black Rob , his older brother , got behind him and build up a team for his little brother to prosper from . Nispey name quickly got out as the upcoming rapper in the following years to come and the biggest record labels offered him deals and he stayed independent . Nispey says “ Rick Ross MMG offered me the best deal ever for me at the time” but at the same time he rather put all the coins in his bag before he give up any chips that would be from his own efforts. Nispey from the music started his own campaign and merchandise called Marathon Clothing  and from the success of his music and his shows he bought a store and open up The Marathon Clothing store. Nispey success as a independent artist not only shows artist that they can be successful artist in music but continue to translate that same success on a entrepreneurial stance and create more in their legacy . Nispey Hussle is exactly what his name states , He is a hustler born and bread and there nothing else you can say about this man that isn’t in his story .

How do you release music as an independent artist?
The great thing about releasing music as an indecent artist is that you wont have to fight for your own rights for your music with the label they are automatically yours by default of your own distribution . You make your own music on your own account and your own deadline your not in any deadline when it comes to labels needing a single by a certain time. Every song should be your best work. There is a formula for release dates and its all about the timing and everything you should be calculated in the respect to your music . Also network at all the events that you go to put your music out there in front of the crowd . Be consistent with the production of your music and make everything you do musically have a certain standard. Always invest back into your brand and into who you are as a person .

Mastery Journal Entry
I am getting closer to the the my next big story that will genuinely launch my career on my youtube page . The artist that I have been trying to get is locked up and I finally got approval to visit him in prison to interview him while he is in jail. The best thing about me getting this opportunity it will show that I can gain access to the intangible people . What I am learning from the content  this month how to be more intuitive about my research I conduct and if I choose to make these things a reality then you need to do more hands on research with information that doesn't exist . Also to make sure that I am understanding that my audience needs the facts and not my opinions.I will continue to make strides in my professional direction as a journalist.

The Journey of My Mastery
This New Media and Communication course has really open me up to the different ways I can reach my goals and start creating my own platforms so that I can push my own brand on my own with very important sources and platforms to create these different types of spaces . I can apply these methods of social media and blog posting to help me truly become a master at my craft. I really want to become a host for a podcast and a television show . That is what I am currently working towards , I already got a degree for behind the camera now I just need to top it off for things like this with content . Perfecting my self and becoming who I want to be on screen is the next step to me really becoming exactly the person I want to be and not for the fame . I want to do this for a free of mind state . This course has definitely help lead me toward my mastery goals.

Inspiration for the week
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyMq6KuWUJQ
This short film of Meek Mill Wins and Losses Album
This reason why I choose this short film is because it shows the social despair of what it means to come form nothing and still beat the odds and become successful . Music that sounds like success displays the truth . That is what this video does . The truth is always inspiring in my perspective . If you don't believe me take a look yourself
