Pokemon fans not understanding that people are enjoying Palworld for the game mechanics is really eye opening.

so, I have looked at more palworld stuff

When I see this:

The little pink dudes carrying ingots around just seems inefficient, that could be a single conveyor belt if you weren't so committed to slavery. But the dude in the back breathing fire into the foundry? Fucking compels me.

I don't really want to play the game as is, because a) early access, probably a glitchy mess, and b) not really enthusiastic about the brutal murder and slavery of adorable magical creatures for my own selfish gains (yes I do play rimworld, but with minimal war crimes)

But I really do like the idea of a base-building game where your infrastructure is fundamentally based on the supernatural abilities of cute little critters you meet and recruit, rather than either being mundane tech or just handwaved away for convenience. Basically I want the non-combat capabilities of pokemon to actually be part of gameplay rather than a two-line description in the pokedex entry

I want to gather up a team of adorable/horrifying magical critters, and then I want to live with them instead of just fighting with them and maybe, on occasion, riding one.

Cryptids & Creatures of Folklore Drawtober Day 10 — Alula Whale

The Alula Whale is a cetacean reportedly seen in the Indian Ocean. It was described as similar in appearance to a killer whale however the Alula Whale was said to be sepia brown in color, had a rounder head, and was covered in white, star-shaped scars—assumedly from squid tentacles. Pods of up to eight of these whales were sighted by multiple people on several different occasions.

Naval officer W. F. J. Mörzer Bruyns reportedly saw the Alula Whale on several occasions and even included them in his book Field Guide of Whales and Dolphins.
