History lesson: did you know that when women were fighting to get their rights to vote, they also allowed segregation in protests? This was so they could please the racist white women in the movement because they didn’t see black women as their equals. The black women were forced to march in the back during their protests and were often ignored by the white leaders in charge of the movement.
Of course, as soon as women got their rights to vote, white women left women of color behind and didn’t care that they couldn’t vote.
