Why are flaws in fictional characters indicative of them being terrible people , when irl it’s perfectly normal?
Real people lie, but when Rhaenyra lied once to Alicent it somehow proves that she’s evil, undeserving etc.
Why?

I HAVE BEEN THINKING
Soo a month or two ago I watched the opening and endings of Boruto for the first time, and while I think they are nice and don't hate the characters or anything like that i couldn't stop thinking of how good it could be if the Naruto ending was just a little bit different and more satisfying for all the characters and overall plot.
I would love Boruto an Himawari and that other child they have if the NaruHina ship had ANYTHING in the canon, I would accept Sarada existing if she was Sakura child exclusively or they managed to make SasuSaku non toxic. I would love Orochimaru's child if the show actually made Orochimaru pay for anything that he has done instead of making him a comedic character.
I would adore the Boruto series if it showed how Naruto changed the Shinobi world like he promised to. If the hyugas changed to never allow something like the side family seal to be used again(and if Neji was still alive instead of following the hyugas destiny/curse) . If Konoha made anything to compensate Sasuke for the Uchihas massacre. If the Konoha people ever apologized for the treatment they gave to Naruto and so many more small things like that. But I know for a fact that none of that happens, so even though the colors and songs of the boruto series are nice I can't enjoy them because I know the story never progressed. And I wanted to enjoy them.
I can't fix the series nor I have the intention to do that, I just wish it was different because I like what Kisimoto was doing until the last bit of the war arc.
Idk I just needed to ramble a bit about this, because I do plan to make a next gen au with my headcanons of the story, picking and choosing from canon and filler. But I'm making it with the bitter taste of knowing that the next gen already exists and could have been perfect if it had just little adjustments.

Why is it considered a „Disney“ ending when Dany lives?
This makes no sense.
I rarely see an ending were Jon dies. It’s (almost) always her.

This is a terrible take. Laughing rudely? Why would that even offend anyone? He was a child.
Thats what makes them entitled and spoiled?
Rewatched Viserys dinner speech and Alicent and Rhaenyra look sad and like they believe him. Aemonds not even listening because he stopped thinking of him as anything to him the night he lost his eye. Aegon and Deamon look at him with doubt and irritation when he says he loves them all so dearly and apparently Haleana does too but her shot was cut.
The only people listening carefully are Rhaenyra and Daemons kids because they have been living in I’m so sheltered land for the past 6 years on Dragonstone and they believe his words at face value.
Also luke started that dinner fight. Aemond was literally staring into space and luc started laughing at him rudely. I loved the fight sequence because Aegon stopping luc and baela from intervening was like no 4 on 1 this time bitches let’s see how Jacey can do 1:1. Aegon clearly did feel guilt for the night Aemond was maimed weather his mother shamed him or not.
Team Green kids are mad but god damn are the Team Black kids spoiled entitled brats.

Why does the fandom fight over this:
„Helaena was loved by the small folk and Rhaenyra was not"
So? This doesn’t mean anything other than what is literally said in this quote.
(Girl, I’m sticking with enjoying the ride. Not hating any team or character (except Ser Criston). I genuinely like all characters.)

I find it funny how people complain about Rhaenyra being „boring/whitewashed“ and saying she is portrayed with no flaws.
Season 1 and 2 all of her decision are being questioned. Her son confronts her about him being a bastard. She has trouble controlling her council members and be taken seriously. She is indecisive and not really proactive. She struggles with what her plan of action actually is. Her actions from season 1 lead to this conflicts and discussion she has.
Aegon is a similar story. I saw people either calling him whitewashed or a „villain „ without nuance and I strongly disagree.
He is not a particularly good person. He tries to be a good ruler, to be loved. He feels neglected by his mom, he mourns his sons and kill men in revenge.
He assaulted a girl but that’s not all he does/did. That doesn’t mean everything else didn’t happen.

I might be a minority, but I thought HotD (and fire and blood) was supposed to be a tragic tale about one powerful family, losing it all.
It’s about circumstances, bad luck, bad decisions, miscommunication, gender roles and so much more. All culminating in a senseless war, without winners. Although, still hopeful, because the Targaryen lineage still prevails.

Yes! Exactly this.
Also, we have to keep in mind that it’s not entirely on the writers, but also studio interference and executives meddling which is to blame. Keep in mind that season 3 was officially greenlit while season 2 aired.
i am hyped for grrm's mean hotd blog but the fact that those twt users who have been complaining about the show since before S1 even aired are going to see it as a validation of all the hate-mongering they've been doing for years .... that's going to get so annoying so quickly lmao

As much as I enjoyed HotD season 2, I am not blind the issues at hand, because I had some as well.
The cinematography and music was beautiful. The first 4 episodes were amazing (imho), as well as episode 7.
Was I dissatisfied with the ending? Yes. I thought we would get the Gullet.
The Maelor thing.. I don’t get that decision.
The angle that history is made by winners and is falsified over time was intriguing to me.
But to say that ALL of it was wrong is weird.
Heleana being in the vision was odd but didn’t bother me that much.
The deleted scenes again. Why??
It was fine. But it was lacking payoff.
The first season should’ve been longer, with more fleshed out relationships.
I just want more.

I hate the saying in the show and it being only referenced in the end towards Dany, because Jon is somehow exempt.

Like, wtf was up with that.
Until you realise it’s misogyny and hating Daenerys.
Peak Game of Thrones hypocrisy is Daenerys being framed as turning evil because she executed two enemy soliders who just slaughtered her allies after giving them a chance to bend the knee, while Arya literally baking men into pies and feeding them to their father before murdering their entire house is just a cool girlboss revenge moment.
