(i’ve had this post sitting in my drafts for a few days now, unsure of whether i should post it or not, but i think it’s best i do.)

as i’ve stepped away from this blog for a while to heal from surgery, i’ve had time to think about the things i’ve seen going down in this fandom recently, and the hate this blog specifically has received. 

in the past month or two, i think i’ve gotten more hate in the inbox than positivity submissions. and when i do receive a submission, i find myself wary of it, unsure of where this person falls when it comes to supporting black members of this fandom. i check blogs as they get submitted, but i miss things, especially if there’s a lot on the blogs--and i’m very sorry for that. there are also posts predating my time on this blog, and ones i posted before i began checking blogs.

i can’t justify ever having racist blogs featured here. but i hear you, and i promise i’m doing my best to weed out those submissions. 

that being said, a lot of the hate i’m receiving is for taking down submissions, which puts me in a difficult position. i struggle with my mental health, and being called wicked, hypocritical, vile, etc is doing nothing to help me. all i want is to share positivity. but this blog runs on outside support, and i cannot force anyone to share something they’re not wanting to. 

all this being said, i think it’s best for this blog to go on an indefinite hiatus. it really pains me because i know for a while, this blog brought so many people joy, myself included, but i can only put up with so much hate. i also resent the fact it may look like i’ve been bullied off this blog, but simply put: this blog has been twisted into something it never should have become. i’m so sorry to those of you who still supported fandom-age, and hopefully it’ll be back someday, but for now this feels like the right choice. 

tl;dr this blog is going on hiatus due to a lack of submissions and a great deal of upset regarding choices i have made.

hey guys! so had surgery yesterday (nothing life threatening, so please don’t worry!), but during my recovery, i have very limited mobility, which means i can’t really blog from my laptop for a week or so.

as some of y’all know, i make all the posts for this blog on my laptop, so unfortunately this blog is gonna be on a slight hiatus until i feel better. you can still submit as many posts as you would like, but i just won’t be able to publish them for a little bit. thanks so much for understanding!!!
