we know a lot of people see Vergil as autistic, but we just had the realization that 1. autism tends to run in the family so if he does then there's a good chance that Dante does as well. which would lead into 2. which is that if Vergil is the Masking Autistic then Dante could very well be the ADHD Autistic which is why he will apparently drop a gig if he thinks it's too boring even if he'd get paid really well.

we know that every autistic person is different in how it presents in them, but as an autistic person who almost exclusively has autistic friends, even we tend to see that most tend to come in two extremely broad flavours of- as we personally like to put it- Masking or Info-Dumping Autistic. obviously, there's overlap because autism is a spectrum, but in terms of either end, that's what we'd put down, ourself.

maybe that's why we don't know which character is our favourite between the two. They're both two very different flavours of acoustic. lol

Last Time: Mission 5 was fun and easy and we got our first A rank. But most of Mission 6 was fine except the boss who’s a bitch we kept dieing to and we quit after like 10 times so we could calm down.

Miriam Plays Devil May Cry: A Saga (DMC1 Arc)

Decided to actually replay the games now that we have access to all of them at once. Thought it would be funny to basically live blog our reaction as we brush up on our DMC knowledge.

First thing's first: The font choice for the text crawl about Sparda was so hilariously atrocious and hard to read and we're so glad there's narration because there is NO Fucking Way people wouldn't have complained about the lack of it back in the day of tube TVs. They probably complained enough as-is about it being there at all. No need to add to the misery. haha

Second: The exposition/lore dump regarding Dante's past was so stilted and badly done that we kind of love it. It's so funny how Trish just fucking drops all this knowledge about him before trying to wreck shit because........? because lol that's why. Even if she was just trying to test him, that whole bit was so dumb. A+

it is so easy to imagine a yandere!dante scenario when this man has been doing all he could to chase down his brother for who knows how long, and Vergil keeps disappearing on him for one reason or another. most of the time it isn't even really because Vergil wants to leave him, necessarily, like when he was Nelo Angelo and was basically- as we understand it -mind controlled up until he was defeated for the third time on Mallet Island, but it keeps happening, regardless.

between all of the suffering Dante has gone through and all the times his brother- whom he clearly loves deeply even if you don't see that love being romantic like we do -has shown up only to slip through his fingers time and time again, we can totally see him developing a yandere complex towards his brother.

as much as we love the idea of Dante and Vergil finally being able to happily live/work together after all they've been through in a way that's both sickeningly sweet and cute yet acknowledging of the fact they lost so much time they could have spent together if they hadn't been torn apart as kids and that's always in the back of their minds...

we also love the idea of them being snarky and casual to the point Dante will joke about the amount of times Vergil's stabbed him in the chest with Yamato or Rebellion or some other sword for being too obnoxious while walking around with the thing still stuck there because he's too lazy to take it out. they both know it's not deadly and at this point it's their version of when a close friend/family member/loved one insults you as an in-joke (probably a reference to a show or other piece of media that you both really like) and then the two of you laugh and start talking about something like food or the aforementioned piece of media. it's the intimacy of knowing you're both in on the joke and don't take it seriously.

brb. imagining Vergil and Dante living together long enough for both to be more open and honest about their feelings to the point where Dante says/does something unintentionally cute- or at least comes off as cuter than he actually intended -and Vergil just clutches at his own chest while trying not to be like-
