I feel like half the appeal of sciles is the fact scott is y'know The Good Guy who is trying his goddamn best, who desperately wants to save everyone and does NOT take failure to do so lightly. and then there's stiles, who could not give less of a fuck about anybody else At All if their name isn't scott mccall and thinks everyone who makes his best friend's life harder should die tbh :/

like c'mon. stiles gets to do that BECAUSE he's the best friend, not the hero. I can't believe people HONESTLY think it'd be better if stiles was in the right for this. he's selfish for the both of them on purpose bc scott doesn't get to be. they literally say it in the show!!!!!! it would not be better if scott acted like stiles!!!!!!!! sorry but the scene where scott squares up with the beast in the library stays one of thee moments in television history idec. the david and goliath of it all, how patient the moment is to show us the realization scott's not alone in the room that this massive creature is cornering him in, that it's full of high schoolers terrified out of their minds about to see him shift. how the scene utilizes dead silence sooo well, you can see scott scramble to think of what to do with all these kids staring at him covered in his own blood. he doesn't even speak at first, just gestures at the stairs but everyone is too paralyzed to move until he breaks the silence with a whisper, how immediately everyone trusts this one guy about to fight a demon grizzly bear in front of them and scrambles to obey even if it means leaving him down there to fight it alone... literally cinema come back
