While eating dinner today I realised that soup can teach you a lot about how you have to take the good with the bad in life. Cause there's no way your shaking that peice of vegetable off of your spoon without the chicken and noodles going with it.

The Holmes family. Known for their brilliance, their genius. From the beginning they were truly a cut above the rest. And it wasn't just talent that made them this way; it was their very DNA. Having evolved from years ago into until it finally became them. They were said to be the most brilliant people to have ever lived, and their descendants would prove to be the same: the smartest race ever seen in all of time and space. Along the way, for a while, they lost part of themselves. Even with the pointed ears that distinguished them so clearly as the Volcan genius, they had lost the  love that gave them their strenth. The one thing that had kept the first Holmes alive.
They learned from those in their race that were half human....partly ordinary.  And even though they loathed the very idea of anything like that, the smartest amoung them realised that they were not perfect yet.
And so the wisest of them sought this lost treasure. They left the home that they had built and learned to love and grow once more with the help of other races, other friends. Friends from all over the universe, from all of time and space as well. They had quickly learned how to engineer time machines in the beginning, and by now their DNA had developed into something new from their frequent forays into the time vortex. For a time they were considered the greatest race to ever live....but now there is only one left. One lonely, mad old man who travels around in a box. Like Sherlock, he feels so isolated,so alone. So he does what his ancestor once did and finds companions to travel with. And while those companions may never truly identify with someone seemingly so ancient and wise, even the Doctor has that little bit of human in him that began to grow when Sherlock Holmes met John Watson so long ago.
