i know everybody is probably comparing frank and dennis in this ep but. once again i am suggesting that dennis is running in parallel to a woman (shocking)

there are obvious similarities with dennis and frank both realizing that these meaningless sexual encounters are not what they wanted, that it's unsatisfying, but mac has also explicitly stated this is the case with him as well this season. samantha knows what frank is angling for, and she continues trying to establish a relationship with him instead. dennis has been refusing to have sex with mac for years.

sam begins their date by talking about her dead husband in a way that prompts frank to ask if she killed him. she doesn't deny it.
