I'm in a class called Dracula and Vampire Lore at Arizona State (ROM 442) and for my final project I'm putting together interviews with people who consider themselves vampires, whether blood or energy or both. I'd be super interested if anyone would be willing to answer a few questions or simply tell me anything they want people to know about their lifestyle. No it's not that I don't appreciate the flirting, I just wish you wouldn't do it while I'm in the middle of vivisecting you. Yes I know that it's really hot when I'm covered in your blood elbow deep in your chest cavity that's why I keep vivisecting you. 🦇Talking a little about the origins of the gothic subculture

First of all we need to define what a subculture is. Subculture is a specific segment within a broader culture, characterized by distinct values, beliefs, norms and patterns of behavior, forming a way of life shared by a part of the population.

🦇The gothic subculture had its origins in the late 70s, mainly in the British musical context. The movement emerged as a response to the punk scene that predominated at the time, presenting a darker and more introspective aesthetic and thematic approach.

🦇Bands like Bauhaus, formed in 1978, are often considered pioneers of the gothic sound, characterized by melancholic atmospheres, poetic lyrics and a unique mix of musical influences.

🦇The post-punk period was crucial to the development of the goth subculture, and nightclubs like the Batcave in London played a vital role in bringing together individuals who shared a taste for a darker, artsy aesthetic.

🦇"Gothic fashion" began to consolidate itself in this environment, with the prominent use of dark clothes, dramatic makeup and accessories that reflected a more romantic and Victorian sensibility.

🦇In addition to music and fashion, the gothic subculture also embraced other forms of artistic expression, such as gothic literature, visual art and cinema.

I absolutely hate HATE the fetishzision of goth girls/people. I fucking hate it. We need to go back to being weird as fuck, off-putting, odd, whatever. I like being a gross nasty goth with a teeth collection and interested with Victorian medicine and death and has messy smudged grimey makeup and cracked lips and letting spiders crawl into my hands after they fell from their web to put them back. Everything that will make people who just see goth people as just a freaky sex thing to turn their noses because jfc I'm more than that.
