something I love in animation is when it really manages to capture weight.

It’s usually only done well in 2D animation when it’s a short/feature film, and it’s rarely captured in 3D animation. In fact, so many 3D animated characters among the various studios look unaffected by gravity. Even Pixar’s upcoming film, Luca— while I’m glad for something more stylized— looks so... inflated? Idk how to explain it ?????

One animation style I adore is Lilo and Stitch. They very consciously push the weighted-ness of everything.

(rather than balloon animals, the shapes are more akin to water balloons, yknow?)

It’s weird to me that so much of 3D animation isn’t able to make their character feel like they have solid mass??? It’s totally doable!!! It’s been done!!!

Maybe it’s just a personal preference, but I wish there was More Of This.

and so i bid adieu to Goblin Month with some final goblins from patreon. 13 goblins (counting goblin adjacent creatures) is a pretty good number i suppose.

Some unicorns who are over the hill but still stylin’. you can tell they’re old unicorns because their colors are really coming in (young unicorns are white, silver, and black, only gaining color as they age) and their horns are getting wild. Also, I think from now on unicorns are gonna be goblinoids with rhino/deer/goat/ect features and even though their name means one horn this functions kind of like a millipede’s name where it mostly means ‘at least one horn’. They can have one or they can have a few all clustered close together, and as they get older it’s not unusual to grow extras.

And lastly, your standard Theater Ghost (who was never actually in the plays but was paid to die in the theater because they fired their last ghost for being a creep. Can’t act at all but she enjoys the free shows and knows all the drama).
