I feel like Keith goes non verbal when he gets tired or overstimulated, he just doesn’t have the energy to form full words and sentences so he kinda just mumbles and hums. After knowing him so long, Shiro can communicate pretty well with him when he’s like this. They also know a little sign language and they use that too.
