can't be a coincidence, right?

so on rewatching season 4 and 1, it can't be a coincidence in the extreme similarity between the jacket when jonathan hangs will's missing poster in ST4 and when mr munson hangs eddie's in the final episode.

is this like, the official stranger things missing poster hanging jacket?

but anyways, could this be a hint as to eddie's survival? maybe a reach, but why have such a similar costume, out of all things to wear, other than to call back to another scene where the person the poster was made for was presumed dead, and came back alive?

maybe i'm just trying to manifest him pulling a hopper, but why are they leaving us *so many* breadcrumbs?

eddie is surely dead, but not gone

alright, we know the last few days the duffers have been confirming and confirming again that eddie is dead. while the suffer brothers like to be tricky and lie, let's consider that he is, really truly, dead.

but dead doesn't mean gone! all the theories that he is kas the bloody handed still apply! vampires are dead, and eddie was killed by bats!

with all the speculation and hints that joe might come back for season 5, and the fact that the lost boys would have come out by then in the stranger things time line, vampires for sure seem like the way to go.

and for us eddie death deniers, let's remember that in the lost boys, after the head vampire is killed, the vampires turn human again. eddie would probably be a parallel for michael, since michael survives with the help of the kids and betrays the other vampires. much like kas, and would align with that "traitor" role that we never really saw come to fruition.

kas betrayed vecna as his lieutenant and eddie died to the same song that will almost died to in season one. will became a servant of the mind flayer (vecna) and betrayed him. let's see a parallel!

listen, i'm a steve girlie ride or die, but if they lean into the lost boys aesthetic for eddie i might just be tempted to switch lanes.... the girls that know, know.

lost boys and stranger things

so i know we get a time jump for s5, which, would definitely put us past 1987, when one of *the best* 80s movies come out - the lost boys

and i know that there's been a ton of theories floating around about eddie not so much resurrecting, but becoming kas the bloody handed, a *vampire* lieutenant of vecna who eventually betrays him and kills him. we've heard the word traitor floating around a lot in the buzz for season four, and being killed by bats is pretty on the nose for that one.

but... what if that gives us a lost boys connection? some people also compared robin's battle outfit in vol 2 to the frog brothers, and i totally buy that.

it makes sense right? like, let's place him as michael. he's turned by david and joins his team, but always refuses to be one of them, refuses to kill. he's manipulated by david, but he comes out strong and eventually helps his brother and his friends to kill the other vampires. sounds like vecna and kas to me.

and, for those of us who know the movie, you know that when the head vampire is killed, the vampires who are turned by him become human again. so maybe eddie could pull a michael and with the death of vecna, come back to life! like in the movie how he's saved by his younger brother, it would be super touching to have dustin be super involved in saving eddie.

eddie would LOVE the lost boys, i just know it, and it would suit the show so well. fingers crossed for us lost boys girlies!!

also i love that there's a full paragraph on the lost boys wikipedia dedicated to stranger things

nancy continuously pairs herself off with robin because the last time she left her friend alone it didn’t end well. she keeps choosing robin because she didn’t choose barb.

when it's cold, i'd like to die (and i'd like to pick apart what this song means)

so, we know that this song plays during eddie's death scene, and also will's near death scene in season one.

while initially a lot of people assumed it meant a fake out death, i think it goes deeper than that.

when will returns, he returns as a spy and agent for the mind flayer (who we now know is vecna). so this could foreshadow eddie becoming an agent of vecna if he survives

and this could lead us down the vampiric kas the bloody handed pathway, as kas is an agent for vecna who betrays him. will does the same, eventually betraying vecna and helping his friends close the gate.

so while of course peter gabriel's heroes cover is a fakeout death song, when it's cold, i'd like to die could very well be a song that implies a traitor and betrayal. pretty cool.

a lot of the cast used the traitor buzzword and we all expected another agent of vecna, so maybe this is it, just a season later.
