Notes written on this project as it was being conceived:
I'd like to do a photoshoot based on a character that I've created, as I've got so many ideas and reasons for why these characters dress the way they do due to personally developing them. In this case I'm choosing a character from a contemporary, modern-day story, main points:
• Should bring roses as props. Roses have always represented this character to me as roses symbolise romance, and this character is constantly looking for love.
• Baggy jeans with cropped top—this character often wears something tight/cropped and then something bigger and baggier. Also gives a more androgynous appearance with something more typically masculine, then something more typically feminine, which is what this character goes for.
• Rose-tinted sunglasses because this character goes through a lot but in the end is eternally hopeful and optimistic.
• Red and white trainers—red/white/pink is their main colour code, again due to connotations with romance.
• Golden jewellery, long earrings. Long earrings are noticeable due to the character's short hair, and necklaces stand out against the much less flashy clothing.
• Snakeskin fake leather jacket. Chosen because the character often wears leather jackets, but never in black—this is because black leather jackets tend to give negative connotations to a character, and this character is generally perceived as sweet.
• Character doesn't wear too much makeup, but wears red lipstick when they go out due to it standing out against their blonde hair, and wears black eyeliner just to make their eyes stand out more.

I'm interested in the resurgence of the Teds in the 70s and the way that some of the younger members of this social group combined with the Punks that were emerging at the time. I'd like to base a photoshoot around this particular style—more old-fashioned, traditional Ted clothes such as shirts, ties, trousers, etc., and combine the outfit with some more typically punk items such as studs, safety pins, gloves. Would like to show some attitude in the poses due to the bad reputation of both the Teds and the Punks.
