FINALS.

MY FINAL DOUBLE PAGE SPREADS.
I have absolutely LOVED this project, it was really difficult due to COVID restrictions and being 100% online however, I’m so proud with what I have achieved with limited resources. If I can do THIS - what else can’t I do!
I really do believe that you would find the above in my chosen magazine, Off The Rails.
You can clearly see my links to the collections found on VOGUE runway, AMBUSH, THE ROW, HERON PRESTON..
My artwork, TABLEAU by Piet Mondrian is also shining through my images from colour to electric tape and I love that the vibe of grunge dark, bold fashion is also visible.
I feel as though I have pushed myself this project to be more on time with deadlines, learn new skills and be confident in myself that I am GOOD ENOUGH! I believe my work is the product of this.

GRAPHIC BURGER.
I moved onto the last steps of my DPS.
I wanted to upload my work onto a magazine mock up from a website Hollie showed us earlier in the term.
I watched the video Hollie provided for us to recap my memory.
I then found my desired magazine mock up and downloaded it onto my laptop.
I then followed the steps and direction given by Hollie to upload my DPS.’
I love how simple and easy this is to do. I believe it makes the DPS look so much more attractive and professional.
I made sure to keep inline with the rulers.
I then decided to use primary colours as my background for the magazine. I’m so glad I did this, it looks really effective and links into my artwork.

DPS TWO.
However, I didn’t feel right, AGAIN at my DPS.
I decided to play around. I felt as though the second layout on my previous post looked childish and not professional.
I decided to delete the boxes. I then moved the logo onto its own empty page - instantly it looked better !
I spread out the Polaroid’s and using the paint bucket, filled all the tape vectors into primary colours.
I asked if I could show Sally both the previous layout for my second DPS and the one shown above. Sally much preferred the attached DPS and was really complimentary about it which made me feel tons better.
Sally advised I changed the tape so they didn’t look all exactly the same - which I agreed with.
Using the vectors sourced on google images I began to vary the style of tape. I’m so happy I took the time to get a second opinion as I couldn’t be happier with the final outcome.

DPS TWO.

For my second DPS I thought I had a clear vision of what I wanted...
Firstly I added the logo and a page number to the spread.. I believe little features like these are just as important as the main features. They add a professional feel to the piece.
Using horizontal lines sourced from google images, I began to make the boxes shown on my plan to go against my film images.
I uploaded both film images created on DAZZ CAM’s d classic camera lense onto the spread and scaled them against the box. I wanted the boxes to be smaller than the image to create a layered style effect.
I then moved onto the second side. I wanted to use tape and Polaroid’s for this side. I sourced tape vectors off google images. Using the magic wand tool and the crop button, I made my desired tape and copy and pasted.
I uploaded my Polaroid’s from DAZZ cam and my wording off Illustrator onto the DPS and I really liked the page, it looked really visual and eye catching.
I added the tape and played around with the colour of the tape from all black to Red, Yellow and Blue - primary colours to link into my artwork, Piet Mondrian’s ‘Tableau.’

DPS ONE.

For my first DPS I had a clear vision of what I wanted to achieve.
I firstly, split my page in half to create 2 even pages.
Then I, copy and pasted my wording I created on Illustrator into Photoshop, this was again really easy which I thought could be problematic.
I uploaded my Polaroid’s I created in black off DAZZ CAM onto photoshop and moved them onto the page with my wording. I love the the way both the Polaroid’s and wording compliment each other and look really striking.
I chose to add a logo at the top of the page to show that this can be found in Off The Rails Magazine.
I moved onto the second page. I knew I wanted one larger image for this DPS’ I loved this shoot and wanted one big picture to present it more clearly. Using an image made on DAZZ CAM and the DQS camera.. I uploaded the image onto the document and scaled it to size.
I ensured to add a page number..
However, I felt something was not right. I called Sally to get her professional opinion. Sally advised me to scale the image on the right down to show some white negative space. This made such an improvement.
After this, I felt as thought this DPS was complete. I am really happy with the outcome, it looks extremely versatile and bold and you would 100% find this spread in OFF THE RAILS....

HELP FROM HOLLIE.

I really wanted to include text like what I saw on Pinterest on the red DPS. I played around for a few days but found I was struggling.
I emailed Hollie who was more than happy to help.
I showed Hollie the DPS and the look I was trying to achieve and within 5 minutes she was able to show me on ADOBE Illustrator how to do this.
By simply creating your desired shape:
ARRANGE - BRING TO FRONT
⬇️
ADD YOUR TEXT
⬇️
MERGE TOGETHER
⬇️
OBJECT - ENEVLOPE DISTORT
⬇️
MAKE WITH TOP OBJECT
I can’t believe how easy this was to create, so simple yet adds so much more edge and creativity to my work...
I created :
GRUNGE
FASHION IS MY FREEDOM....

LAYOUT IDEAS..

I began researching into different styles of DPS’ to see what I wanted my own work to look like. I sourced all of above inspiration off Pinterest. I am most drawn to the first DPS attached in this post.
I love the bold text It really caught my eye and looks very creative. I am unsure as to how I would create this myself.
I also love the image being layered on the text on both the yellow dps and the green. It seems like such a simple feature but really effective.

EDITS

Above are my chosen images from all of the shoots. I plan to use all the images selected in my final.
I have edited all the above images on Lightroom using the options on the app shown in a previous post.
I am so proud of these images given I had limited resources. I believe they look really professional and convey the aesthetic I was trying to achieve...

DAZZ CAM.

‘DAZZ CAM’ is an app I discovered through tik tok.
The app enables you to upload images and experiment with different cameras such as, Polaroid cameras, film cameras and use lenses like fish eyes..
I knew I wanted to use this app for my final DPS’ so I played around with the different camera features available to me.
I used the following cameras :
INST C.
DQS.
D CLASSIC.
I love the effect of the Polaroid’s especially the black - I also love the dark grainy style produced on the film camera.

EDITING...

To edit my images I use the app ‘LIGHTROOM.’
I find Lightroom really easy to use and believe it’s the best editing app for clean and professional images.
I use the ‘COLOUR’ and ‘PRESETS’ options to edit my pictures.
I love the crispness in the image I have attached above, it is sharp and dark. The image looks really professional.
