i always knew that afycso was a great album sound wise and lyrically (ily ryan ross) but going through each song and reading the genuis lyrics annotations for each line in planning for this fic is so interesting

this part in particular is really cool

not even just the lyric itself but the way he sings it is so creative to portray what’s going on; stay where i can see you is softer and calmer (like the annotation said almost like calming an animal) and douse the lights! is immediately louder like he’s yelling it out to someone

then we sure are in for a show tonight is back to being quiet as if he’s saying it to himself, and in the track there’s people talking and yelling behind the words like they’ve been exposed and are panicking
