Minegishi Loves To See Ootsu Eat

I found out about Minegishi Loves To See Ootsu Eat today and just had to post about it. This is too cute. There isn’t too much to write about only about six short chapters are out which about been mostly cute sexual tension. 

The gist being Ootsu is just and ordinary desk jockey who has a bit of thing for sweets and is on the chubby side. Ootsu seems to have a bit of jealous crush on sis handsome and seemingly good at everything co-worker (soon to be boss) Minegishi.  Well, it turns out Minegishi has a crush on Ootsu and just loves watching the man eat so takes every chance to give him snacks.

Deri Pocha ~Yajuu no H na gohan~

Deri Pocha is a really cute yaoi manga.  One of the few yaoi manga I’ve found that deals with weight fairly positively.  There are still a few moments of questionable consent, not as bad as most yaoi manga. Kouta is a short and rather plump high school kid. Who got that way because he just loves food.  He is a rather happy cheerful person with two great friends. (Some of the most supportive friends I’ve seen in a yaoi manga). One day Kouta finds second-year Shibusawa senpai has passed out from not eating.   Shibusawa seems to find all food tasteless and doesn’t seem to like any homemade cooking. Kouta not knowing this offers some of his lunch to Shibusawa senpai.  Which surprisingly Shibusawa find delicious. Shibusawa then demands “Let me eat you” to Kouta. The next few chapters go by based on some misunderstandings.  Sometimes Kouta’s male childhood friend will say something dumb not thinking and Kouta takes it to the extreme. There is a little of the “I don’t understand my feelings” going on.  But again I said this manga is cute and isn’t overly melodramatic about this stuff which is nice. On the fetish front, this is pretty damn fetish-y.  There isn’t any weight gain but there a lot of moob play (which I rather enjoyed).  There is also a lot of food-related fun like getting covered in clotted cream. Also, Kouta getting licked and being told how tasty he is. ~.^ Fetish level: High

I always wanted to make a post about these three because they are among my favorite chubby boys out there. I’m speaking of the Tondas, from the manga Ookami-san and her Seven Companions ( appearing around the chapters 21-22).

For those of you who don’t know it, this manga is all about fairy tales. Every character is a reference to a fairy tale, in a modern high school setting, and it ends up as a sort of comic slice of life thing, with romance in it.

The Tondas are, of course, a reference to the Three Little Pig (hence their pig-like nose and pointy ears). But they are not little. Not by any mean.

The three of them together weigh over 400 kilograms (880 pounds). That means that they roughly weigh 130 kilograms each (280 pounds). And their individual names all refer to their enormous sizes. The youngest (hair parting on the left) is called Futoshi (meaning thick or big). The middle child (hair parted in the middle) is called Hiroshi (meaning generous and prosperous). The oldest (hair parting on the right) is Takashi (meaning prosperous, strong and healthy). 

They also have a habit, when speaking, to end their sentences with a pig-related onomatope. For Takashi it’s “buu”, for Hiroshi it’s “buhi”, and for Futoshi… Actually, Futoshi speaks normally. However I remember a joke at one point where he ended up revealing that he was associated to an onomatope, like his brothers, but managed to control his speaking in order to hide it… I couldn’t find it back in the manga, so it must be in the anime.

Also, apparently the Japanese writing for “Tonda” contains “pig” in it.

One thing I like is that, despite being overweight, it shows in their design that they used to be bishounen. In fact, I still think of them as quite cute (but maybe that’s just me). Their faces are drawn in a detailed way, just like every other character (so we don’t have the “chibi” or “simplified” face of typical overweight characters in manga). At first glance, they seem fashionably dressed, with shirts, well put hair, trousers with suspenders, and what seems to be a sort of scarf or jabot at their neck. But, when you look closely, you realize the scarfs/jabot are just napkins, and that they wear suspenders because their pants are too small and they can’t close them (it’s pretty obvious in a lot of drawings). The perfect picture of the fashionable bishounen that fell in their excess…

They are introduced as some sort of “olfactive terrorists”. Let me explain:

The three brothers used to be part of a club called the “Cooking Research Club”, a club focusing on enjoying food. However, there was a schism in the Club: some people decided that they weren’t interested into cooking food, but rather into eating it. As a result, the ones who enjoyed cooking stayed in the “Research Club” while the eaters created their own “Gourmet Club”. And yep, these big eaters were the Tonda Brothers (Futoshi is their leader and the founder of the Gourmet Club, his older brothers are basically just following him). Originally it was a legitimate and active club, with funds. They basically acted like culinary critics: they regularly published a newsletter talking about and comparing the school cafeterias, the store selling food, the touring restaurants, etc… However, at one point they stopped publishing their newsletter and started to just use the money of the school to pig out (pun intended). Other students complained, and since the Gourmets refused to change their ways, their club was on the verge of being dismantled. However, the headmaster of the school asked them to prove their devotion to their club, and if they acted strongly enough, they could go on with their “activities”.

So, the Tonda brothers decided to do a strike. A bathing strike. The three of them selected a room in a building and “occupied” it by staying in there, eating a lot and not bathing. The heat and the sweat resulted in a very obnoxious smell (it is also suggested that a part of the smell is due to their eating habits, aka gastric gazes. However, there isn’t any burping or farting jokes in their chapters, so I guess I’m just reading too much into it). The smell ended up being so bad that it infested the whole building, making students flee. As a result, the Tondas took the control of the empty building, closing every window to prevent fresh air from entering in and… yeah, all of that is really twisted and weird. But this manga has a lot of weird moments.

Isekai Shoukan-sareta ga Kyousei Soukan-sareta Ore ha shikatanaku yaseru koto ni shita

So, the English title of this translated to “ I was summoned to another world, but I was forced to return home, so I decided to lose some weight. “ Which pretty much describes the basic plot to this manga.  Also, I am sure you are shocked to know after that title that this is an isekai manga (spirited to another world) manga. Though this one goes a little awry quickly as our protagonist Toudou is summoned to another world after being hit by a truck. His physical and magical stats are just way to low. And while still in the summoning circle there is an error and his weight exceeds the required weight limits. Toudou and the princess who summoned are sent back to our world.

But the princess Shella can’t access her summon abilities right now and can’t send them back. Toudou ends up with another surprise he gets the infinity skill “judgment”  and now can see everyone’s stats and talk to it (though only he can see and talk to “her”).  Judgment tells him that he and the princess are too fat and must lose weight if they want to make it back to the magical world.

That sums up the basic plot only several chapters are out right now.  I have some mixed filling about this title.  It does some interesting stuff for an isekai manga but whoa boy this one is super negative on the fat size. “ Plus-Sized Elf” has a similar joke set up with characters not being able to travel between worlds because of their weight gain but it is never really mean about being fat. This on the other hand, well, is not nice to fat people at all.  It lets up a bit after a couple of chapters but this is not a manga for people sensitive about the topic.

I’m also a bit annoyed that by chapter three Princess Shella “fat problem” is magically fixed super easily.  Basically “poof” now she is hot.  Which I get in terms of this type of manga and having a hot main female character as a selling point.  But I really thought it was interesting to have both the main leads be overweight and need to work to fix it. I also thought how fat princess Shella was drawn was really cute and it was nice to see a very obviously overweight female character with a belly and still be adorable (I also think the main male character is also drawn pretty cutely).

This one isn’t too fat fetishy. More everyday schlub ends up with a hot girl thing.Fetish Level: Low

For @thecolorfulpolicechild again, Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, chapter 77. Aladdin and his friend Alibaba lived for six months in the palace of their good friend Sinbad while he was away. At first they were gloomy and despaired (apparently because their country was invaded and many of their friends died), but soon they decided to drowns their sorrows in the luxury and the opulence of Sinbad’s kingdom (there, they are treated as national heroes, because them saved a country apparently). However, when Sinbad returns, he notices that their slothful and gluttonous lifestyle made them gain weight. The oldest, Alibaba, got round and plump, while the youngest, Aladdin, is now just a blob of fat.

This is by far the most (fat) fetishy manga I have read that isn't straight up porn and it is pretty funny. I still kinda can't believe it is getting an official English release. I love Seven Seas. <3

Not Love But Delicious Foods Make Me So Happy

From Fumi Yoshinaga (Antique Bakery, What Did You Eat Yesterday?) is a one-shot volume that is both bio work and a Tokyo area restaurant guide.  It gets into a little bit about the daily life of a mangaka and A LOT into how delicious food is. (This is a woman who dumps a man because he didn’t like a restaurant she recommended so you know she is serious about her food). So, if you are a foodie you will really enjoy this manga a lot. She really goes into detail into what goes into these foods and how they taste and it will have you drooling. This is something she is skilled in and comes in a lot with her other works like “Antique Bakery” and “What Did You Eat Yesterday?”

The reason this manga makes the list is fairly minor (but probably close to our hearts here) but Yoshinaga’s friend “F-yama” is a big man but not only that she LOVES the way he looks. Quote: But I can’t get over that oh-so-soft body of F-yama-san’s!  So, yeah he only shows up twice but we are totally dealing with an FFA here.

My Most Beloved One Is Still You - One shot in Usotsuki If you get triggered by abuse don’t bother reading this, in the end, it is kind of played for laughs but even I can’t find it funny.

I’m not sure what handles weight gain worse shoujo or yaoi manga but today’s manga is a yaoi manga so for today it will be yaoi (don’t worry I have some good yaoi suggestions later).  Many years ago when I was trawling around for manga with fat characters in it this was one of the few I found.  Everything about this kind of awful and this is from a person who generally likes yaoi manga.

First of all, we have a relationship between a boss and his subordinate (not too creepy in this case) who are so madly in love they just have to do it at the office. It’s pretty obvious the boss is obsessed with the subordinates looks but promises no matter what he looks like he will always love him.  >__> Cue the Boss needing to take a three-month business trip alone.

One return his hot Adonis has turned into a cute marshmallow boy.

Turns out he started emotionally eating from missing the boss and gained a bunch of weight.

The boss tries but is really rather obviously upset his hot Adonis is gone.  So, he takes to actually locking the dude in a closet and starving him until he loses weight. OMG! WTF? Now that his subordinate has lost all the weight they can have sex again. Yay? The joke being after tieing and locking up the poor dude the boss finds out he is a sadist.  Haha?  Except there is a big difference between a sadist and a sociopath... --- So, I am including this to eventually have a full list as possible. But yeah this is just kind of terrible. Fetish Level: --- Trigger Level: High

Mori no Takuma-san

From Ayumi Komura (Usotsuki Lily) is a romance shoujo manga about a girl who cares deeply about the looks of well everything.  Her clothes, her accessories, her ice cream, and certainly her men.  This has also certainly left her dateless as no one could ever meet the man she has dreamed up. One day her mother convinces her to go on a blind date with a guy who meets all her standards…except he is huge!  But he is also the cute boy she used to find adorable as a child, he is amazing both academically and at sports.  Plus he is he is the heir to a sweets conglomerate.  Oh, and he is a perfect gentleman to top it off.   Despite his large size, Karin finds herself falling for Takuma. This manga is pretty cute too.  Though a bit more questionable in how it handles weight than some of the other manga I have posted, though still way better than most shoujo manga covers the topic.  Takuma’s weight really isn’t looked at negatively, other than he doesn’t fit the stereotypical attractive look.  No one is ever mean to him because of it and he is good at everything.  The questionable thing is kind of a magic weight loss weight gain thing that happens.  To stressed to eat one day?  Losses a couple hundred pounds and become a hottie.  Back to normal eating habits?  Back to normal large size.  Now the manga does fourth wall this quite a bit and gives you a wink, wink, and a nudge, nudge to let you know they know this is silly and knows this isn’t realistic at all.  Which is good. I will give this manga props for them starting to date right away and that the female character starts out a terrible cook (I hate this trope) but she actually learns how to cook. In terms of fetish ehh… In the beginning, some of it seems unintentional but more towards the end, it is harder to tell.  Still, nothing too crazy in this one.

Metsuko ni Yoroshiku Another manga from COOL Kyoushinja (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, RaButa).   Akiko wants to be a popular girl but is a master fighting specialist and can’t seem to not get into fighters.  So, everyone also thinks she is a delinquent even though she tries not to be.  She also loves eating and sweets and has a rather large tummy.   This is another cute manga like RaButa and so it worth checking out even if the fetish level is low on this.  It does have moments, there is a lot of eating until stuffed. And Akiko eventually gains a follower (and friend) Yazu who most definitely likes Akiko’s soft tummy. But the rest of this manga is a normal, funny, and cute slice of life story. Fetish Level: Low

RaButa/Love Pig This is a 4-koma manga from COOL Kyoushinja (Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid). This gets marked as “chubby chaser” but the fact the main love interest fat doesn’t have anything to do with why the female protag is interested in him. Basically, Kurume falls in love with the delinquent Harundo after he saves her from being hit. Harundo is the delinquent type with a heart of gold so at first, he doesn’t think he is good enough for her.  But slowly they begin to get to know each other and develop a relationship. This is a really cute manga though and worth checking out. Fetish level: Really Low

Elf-san wa Yaserarenai./ Plus-Sized Elf In concept a “diet” manga but really the diet seems to be more of an excuse to have the characters gain weight again (and again, and again).  The weight gain isn’t too extreme in this but there is a lot of it.  Mainly female weight gain but on occasion, the male protag also has gained weight. The basic plot being various creatures from a fantasy world (elves, ogres, dragons) are entering modern Japan through some portal.  Of course, these creatures are all of the hot monster girl variety.  But easy modern living and easy access to food are taking a toll on their waistlines.  The problem being they can’t go home if they are not the same size when they left.  Lots of food-related hijinks ensue.
