So I'm super into IWTV right now, but it's in this weird, great way where I adore the show, I'm watching it more than once, but I have no desire to read the source material (Anne Rice was an anti-fandom pos and it's way too verbose for my dumb ass) and I don't really need to dive into fic. I just. Really like it, for what it is. That's weird, but so nice.

"Trump would let netanyahu literally nuke palestine" yeah as opposed to democrats who would use that opportunity to add a reaaaally strongly worded letter with a reaaaaaaaaaallly big frowny face drawn on it onto their next multi billion dollar missile delivery

After not writing fanfic in ages and ages I am feverishly working on an ATLA Pride and Prejudice fusion set in the modern world of drag and gay bars. Zukka, of course. I'm having a ball writing it. Might start posting soon, but I suspect this is for nobody but me.

[ID: A video clip showing a Black person in a green coat interviewing an elderly white person holding up a flag, with more protesters in the background displaying Palestinian flags.
The interviewer asks, "Why is it important for you to be here today?"
The protester responds, "Well, uh, I'm Jewish, I'm Israeli, my parents were the only survivors of their families from the Holocaust. They both survived Auschwitz. I'm not going to support genocide am I?
"I'm here with the Palestinians, and we are here with Palestine, because we don't believe that what the British government is doing is correct. The British government is supporting this genocide! It's arming Israel, it's financing Israel.
"BBC and the other media here is supporting genocide. This is illegal. This is immoral. We don't agree with it, we will never agree with it, and as Jews -- and myself as Israeli -- I am totally against it, and we will continue to be against it.
There are now more than 60 such events in the whole of Britain, uh, people don't want to support this. They are against this government on so many other issues, but especially on this one."
Another elderly white protester next to the first joins in, leaning forward to add:
"And, also, this didn't start on October the 7th. In 1948, Palestinian villages, hundreds of them --"
Another elderly protester interjects specifically, "500 of them".
The second protestor nods and continues, "were demolished, thousands of Palestinians, innocent men, women, and children were slaughtered, and seven-hundred and fifty thousand Palestinian refugees were created. That's when it started, and it hasn't stopped since!"
End ID.]

I know I've made good choices in life when I check on my tumblr after many weeks away and every Middle East related post I see is pro-Palestine.

Anyone want to beta (lightly, nothing hardcore) a Hankcon slight au around 25k words? I don't really know anyone in the DBH fandom.

For the record: I’m not fussed about shipping Hankcon because the alternative in this fandom seems to be shipping Connor or the 900 with the literal actual antagonist racist piece of shit that is Reed. So. Hankcon ftw.

Ugh.
I was working on a new TFATWS story and I can’t do it now. I’ve been trying for days but I can’t get myself to write anything.
Fucking Mackie.

Bucky’s been magically cursed to be allergic to Sam Wilson.
For fuck’s actual sake.
I love the hanahaki trope and I’ve never written it. So here, have a one-shot where Bucky’s so nuts about Sam it almost kills him. :DDD

Okay, I’m gonna vent real quick about my lingering feelings about the TFATWS finale. (I’m not THAT mad, but they definitely peeked on ep 5.)
I have three main issues, considering that I’ve only watched it once now.
1. God damn it. They could have made Sam’s big Cap speech twice as impactful if it had been half as long. The way he kept making a strong point and the people around him kept nodding and looking guilty only for him to be all ‘and ANOTHER thing’ just to repeat the pattern, it was starting to feel like an SNL skit by the end. Sam deserved better.
2. WTF. Walker doesn’t get to have BANTER. Walker doesn’t get to be absolved by the good guys. Not after the last bullshit he pulled. Not after he showed up to the fight in his Party City brand Cap outfit and aluminum foil shield, basically stating out loud that he didn’t respect Sam or the government or their choices for shit. Whatever kind of redemption-lite thing they were doing with him, it smelled really bad. I get it, the end scene with him showed he’s becoming that US Agent bad guy whatever blah blah blah, but that doesn’t pass muster when you have Bucky fucking bantering with him at the end of their little fight. No banter. None for Walker. Fuck that guy.
3. Okay, surely someone has noted this, but. I do kinda have an issue with Bucky commissioning Sam’s replacement wings from Wakanda and making them basically a new Cap outfit, complete with stars and stripes and color scheme. Yeah, Sam took the shield in the end and embraced it and yeah, it made for a great Moment when we first saw him flying in full uniform. But none of that had happened when Bucky asked Ayo for that favor. Bucky was still on his bullshit, and must have specifically asked for it to be a Cap-with-wings uniform even though Sam had yet to say that he was comfortable with the idea. I don’t like that. It’s one of those things that for Plot and Drama needed to happen, but it does say something about Bucky and his respect for Sam’s feelings at that point that maybe the writers weren’t going for specifically but that’s what I’m taking from it anyway.
I will say that like half of my bad feelings were eased by the end title card, when it came up Captain America and The Winter Soldier. That was great. Once Sam agreed to it, ahem, then it was great.
Okay that’s it also Karli shouldn’t have died fuck that. Did anybody point out on that show a single time that for her to be so young doing what she was doing she had to be like 15 or 16 when the Blip happened and she became orphaned and displaced and on her own? Because that’s fucked up.
Okay, that’s really it for real.
