Sushmita Sen to judge Miss Universe 2017 pageant
Former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen has confirmed that she is on the judging panel of 65th edition of the pageant here.
The 41-year-old model-turned-actress was crowned Miss Universe in Manila in 1994 and she said she is excited as well as overwhelmed to return to the pageant 23 years later.

Priyanka Chopra shows support for anti-Trump Women's March
Actress Priyanka Chopra extended her support for the Women’s March that was organised in Wasshinton DC, a day after Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th president of the United States of America.
The 34-year-old actress could not be a part of the peaceful protest due to her busy shooting schedule.
However, Priyanka took to Twitter to say, “So proud of all my sisters and the men that are at the #WomensMarch I’m so upset I couldn’t go. #girllove #womensrightsarehumanrights.”
Priyanka is currently in Los Angeles to resume shoot of her Hollywood debut “Baywatch”, which stars Dwayne Johnson, Zack Efron and Alexandra Daddario.

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9 winner Teriya Magar Says dreams to work with Sonakshi
After winning Dance India Dance Li’l Masters, Teriya Magar once again did the happy dance when she was announced the winner of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9. The 14-year-old Nepali girl, who now wants to try her luck in Bollywood, says sharing screen space with actress Sonakshi Sinha is her dream.

Teriya was named as the winner of the dancing reality show on Saturday night. She took home a trophy and Rs 30 lakh as prize money after fighting it out with Salman Yusuff Khan and Shantanu Maheshwari. Salman became the first runner-up and Shantanu second.
“I don’t know what will I do after this. But I would like to join Bollywood. I have grown up watching Bollywood on TV. If I get an opportunity, I will definitely give it a try,” Teriya said.
Her inspiration from Bollywood?
“Sonakshi Sinha’s expressions inspire me a lot. She is very beautiful. I want to work with her,” she added.
For now, she will be preparing for her exams.

Teriya’s journey in the Colors show was very interesting. She joined the show as a wild card entry, got evicted after some episodes, but then came back to win the show. The judges – Karan Johar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Farah Khan and Ganesh Hedge – also lauded Teriya’s attempt to ace her dance performances week after week.
She is yet to believe that she won the show.
“It was not expected because I was competing with Salman and Shantanu bhaiya. They are amazing dancers and very senior. Just standing there and competing with them was a big deal for me and an achievement for me… Winning was a very proud moment,” said Teriya, who emerged as the youngest winner of the show.

She says she will donate some percentage of her prize money to her foundation named Teriya Foundation – which supports children.
“My parents will decide what to do with the rest,” she said.

Bollywood films may release in Pakistan soon: Zoraiz Lashari
The Chairman of the Pakistan Film Exhibitors Association, Zoraiz Lashari, is confident that the latest Bollywood films will start being released and screened in Pakistani cinemas soon as he said the government does not have any issue with the release of Indian films.
Lashari when contacted by PTI made it clear that the Pakistan government had not banned the screening of Indian films in Pakistan even after the relations between the two countries got tense last year.
“In fact because distributors, exhibitors and cinema owners in Pakistan were facing some NOC issues over the import, certification and screening of new Indian films, Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif has now formed a special committee to discuss the issue and ensure the release of upcoming Indian films in Pakistan,” he said.
He said a meeting was held last week of the committee which was attended by all stakeholders of the Pakistan cinema industry and a lot of focus was laid on supporting Pakistani films while it was also made clear that the government did not ban Indian films.
Lashari recalled that cinema owners had themselves voluntarily decided to suspend screening of Indian films after Pakistani actors were stopped from performing in India.
He said the government committee was now working overtime to make the release of new Indian films possible in Pakistan and added that there could be some positive news in the next two days.
Lashari also insisted that cinema owners as well as distributors in both India and Pakistan are willing to release Indian films in Pakistan.
“Few contracts have also been signed for future films and we should be able to see Indian films soon in Pakistan. The NOC process will start shortly.”
Industry sources told PTI that Pakistani film distributors, exhibitors and cinema owners were keeping their fingers crossed that they will soon get NOCs to import the prints of Aamir Khan’s runaway success, “Dangal” and Sharukh Khan’s upcoming release with Pakistani actor, Mahira Khan, “Raees” in theatres.
“If these two films are released distributors, exhibitors and cinema owners can recoup all their losses from the last four to five months,” well known cinema owner and exhibitor, Nadeem Mandviwalla said.
Maryam Aurangzeb, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting has categorically stated that “Pakistani cinema needs 200 local films per year to survive on its own; until then we’ll have to rely on foreign content.”
Pakistani cinema owners and the industry has been going through severe losses after the suspension of Indian films and even though the suspension was lifted few weeks back the NOC issue has held back release of new films.
Cinema owners in the meantime are surviving on showing old Indian films including Salman Khan’s “Dabangg,” “Housefull,” “Freaky Ali” and “Baar Baar Dekho”.

From having elaborate sequences in movies where the hero teaches the heroine kite-flying or it’s just a way for them to romance, to frolicking about with the entire family having kite wars – there’s a lot to the festival that makes it perfect Bollywood material!
1. Dheel De – Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam
The song begins with a hearty Kai Po Che, the call when one cuts the string of the opposition’s kite during kite wars. The song sees Salman Khan celebrate some fun and festive moment’s with his lady love Aishwarya Rai’s family on the occassion of Makar Sankranti.
2. Ambarsariya – Fukrey
Though not an out and out Kite Flying song, the song is a fun and peppy number and it captures the spirit of Indian festivals too. Also, the scene where Pulkit Samrat sends his message through a kite to Priya Anand is sweet and will take you to those happy, carefree days.
3. Kai Po Che movie The movie title itself is based on the Kite Flying festival – Kai Po Che! There are a couple of fun sequences in the movie woven around the Uttarayan or Kite Flying festival in Gujarat. There’s even a song Manjha, which is the string used to fly the kites. The movie is based on Chetan Bhagat’s book 3 Mistakes of My Life.
4. Yeh Khula Aasmaan movie
Not a Bollywood blockbuster, Yeh Khula Aasmaan is a movie which uses Kite flying to teach the beautiful lessons of life and understand the true essence. Kite flying at it’s best and it’s deepest!
5. Ruth Aa Gayi Re – Earth 1947 The song where Aamir Khan teaches Nandita Das kite flying and the subtle romance that brews between them beautifully captures the essence of the kite flying festival perfectly.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has emerged as the most talked about celebrity on social networking site Twitter.
Shah Rukh left Salman Khan behind to top the male celebrity of the year list with 36 per cent share of the conversations. Salman had an 18 per cent share, a press release issued here said.
Gen-next star Varun Dhawan also made it to the list, followed by Akshay Kumar and megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Others on the list include Hrithik Roshan, Sidharth Malhotra, Karan Johar, Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh.
Among the actresses it was Priyanka Chopra who emerged as the most talked about female star in 2016 on Twitter with a 23 per cent share among the top 10, followed by Alia Bhatt with an 18 per cent share.
Others on the list are Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, Shraddha Kapoor, Kajol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Parineeti Chopra, Sonam Kapoor and Sunny Leone.
The rating is done on basis of actors’ account handle mentions.
Content-driven films such as Shahid Kapoor’s “Udta Punjab” and Alia Bhatt starrer “Dear Zindagi” emerged as some of the most spoken about films on Twitter along with mass blockbusters like Salman Khan’s “Sultan”.
While “Sultan”, “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” and “Shivaay” were some of the most talked about movies, films “Udta Punjab” and “Dear Zindagi” centered around serious issues like substance abuse and mental health, too made it to the top five most spoken about films list of 2016, a media release said.
“Sultan” led the conversation charts with 25 per cent share among the top 10 most spoken about films of 2016, followed by “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” with a 15 per cent share, it said.
Akshay Kumar’s two movies “Rustom” and “Airlift”, Shah Rukh Khan’s “Fan”, Aditya Chopra’s directorial venture “Befikre”, Aamir Khan’s “Dangal” are the other films that featured in the top ten most spoken about films of 2016 on Twitter.

Priyanka’s brother Sameer Jagga has been quite vocal on social media about health being one of the main causes for his sister’s eviction from the Bigg Boss house.
Priyanka’s brother told BL that she suffered a miscarriage on the show. He said:
Unko miscarriage ho gaya tha. Wo beemar the islie wo aye hain. He also added that this was the reason a gynaecologist was called inside the house. During the last week, Priyanka had ugly arguments with other contestants and when they asked what was wrong with her health, she reportedly screamed that she was “bleeding”.
Sameer also said that despite Priyanka’s complains about feeling unwell, the makers wanted her to dance for Salman Khan‘s birthday along with other contestants. He reportedly said that Priyanka refused to dance because of her “bleeding”. Moreover, according to him, she was asked to do tasks when she was not in the condition to do them. He also told BL that Priyanka protested against the house being situated in very unhygienic surroundings, and that there were rats all over in the house.
