TRINETTE SNIDER, musically known as FEMME is an actress/singer-songwriter who happens to be signed to EPIC RECORDS. she is originally from oakland, california but moved closer to the city for better business opportunities. she is widely known as an actress before fully throwing herself into music, having been the star of many movies as well as the live-action reboot of “THE PROUD FAMILY” (mom, i want to be a star sub-plot) below the cut is some detailed information that you probably won’t read, as well as some plots that i finally took the time to write out.

CHERRY is CHI’s first release since the release of ONLINE in 2019. Released a week following the surface of leaked voice messages alleging she was closeted, the song is her proud proclamation of her identity as pansexual. She sings about her day-to-day experience as a pansexual person, as well as the struggles that come with it.

“i hear you loud and clear.” she nodded, leaning back against the chair some. her eyes widened once she heard the deadline sashabelle gave her, quickly fixing the expression. “uhhh, i guess i have to kiss my social life goodbye, but i’ll get it done.” 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘 joked, even though she was serious about getting the half of it done. closing her things, the female twisted her lips to the side as she thought. “i haven’t really thought about everything i wanted to do yet, but i’m trying to get more into my visuals bag with this one, i know that much. it might be something hefty but i can’t put a number to the entire thing.” she explained honestly as she stuffed everything back in her bag. “is there anything you want to be done? besides all that you’ve said?”

𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘‘s nerves grew by the second as she watched sashabelle’s facial expressions, still not being able to read them afters years of knowing her. “it’s funny that you said that, because that is my favorite song, but not because it’s my best work or anything, but because it’s the first some that i actually studied for while writing.” nodding her head, the female placed her chin on her fist, listening to the wise commentary she asked for. keeping note of everything she said, 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘 grabbed her notebook back once the song was complete, jotting down key words on a fresh piece of paper. “i was thinking about the piano cords myself, i just didn’t know if it would drown my voice out or not but now that you spoke on it i know my initial thought was right.” she tapped the pen on her lips as she thought for a second, gathering all the ideas in her head so that they made sense before she said them. “well, i wanted to release it with the video, but in black and white. the song itself gives of love and affection, and when i think of that i think of those french movies from back in the 1940s. how they used their words to paint the color and tone of the film with subtitles. something along those lines, if that makes sense.”

flustered, and embarrassed, 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘 made a face that was almost identical to the nervous emoji as she sat down in the seta sashabelle gestured to. sitting her bag on her lap, she took out the sleek macbook and notebook, where all her music resided. “i actually have, i’ve been playing around with some lyrics and some scrapped songs from my previous bodies of work to see where exactly i want this album to go.” she began to explain, flipping through the notebook to find a specific song that she’s been working on. “i wanted to show you this song i’ve been working on, since i feel like it’s going to be the center of the album.” booting up the computer, 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘 focused on the screen as she went to her digital files for the select song she was hyping up. finding it, she pressed play on the rough draft mp3 file and leaned forward, handing off the notebook with the lyrics so that sashabelle could read them while she listened. “i would really appreciate if you told me what was missing, because i feel like something isn’t there yet.”

you couldn’t pay 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘 to run faster than she already was through the lobby doors of seventh ward ent., trying not to hit the 30 minute mark of tardiness. breezing past the receptionist doors, she shouted out a quick greeting to the older male, before making a beeline to the elevator. luck seemed to be on her side because she managed to catch it as soon as it was about to close on her. “she’s going to kill me…” 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘 complained, tapping her foot against the carpeted floor as she clutched her bag with her hands. when what seemed like the longest 3 minutes of her life was over, the young female was the first one out the doors, her legs taking long strides to sashabelle’s office as quickly as possible. “i’m late, i know! but L.A traffic is a bitch and then it was a car accident on the freeway and i had no way to get past it until the cops cleared everyone but i managed to get here before it hit 30 minutes so please don’t give me that mama bear eye you always do and i think i’m making it worse so let me shut up.” she rambled, holding onto the back of the chair for support as she tried to catch her breath, her eyes pleading with her boss to not go so hard on her. @lisbcns​

“ice?” 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘 questioned, her eyes widening some just a the thought of having to skate on something like that. “see, i almost ice skated for a movie but i chickened out, i refuse to fall on ice. i’ma break my tailbone or worse; fall through the damn thing!” she joked, her skating pace matching aranbi’s. holding her cheeks as they heated up, 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘 couldn’t help but smile. “oh please stop, i’m not good with being gassed up. but i love the fact that you loved me as penny proud, my proudest moment, no pun intended.” nodding her head, she did find the humor in their situation, especially the teens she noticed surrounding the rink. “you know what? you’re right, and if you add the screaming teenagers, we can dramatize it and say we had to fight for our lives.”

hearing a females voice caused 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘 to look up, nodding her head swiftly. “yes, i’m fine. i just haven’t been skating in a long time, i’m rusty as hell.” she admitted, grabbing onto aranbi’s hand, using some of her strength to get herself off the floor. “oh my god i saw that, it felt that crack in my bones when i first seen it.” she placed her hand on her chest dramatically, before tilting her head. “aranbi right? i’m a fan of your music, sorry we had to meet as i’m embarrassing myself.”

“now why would i come here knowing i haven’t been skating in years?” 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘 asked herself rhetorically as she gripped onto the skating rink wall. saying a silent prayer, she pushed herself off the wall before slowly moving her legs to create some form of movement. feeling like she was slowly getting the hang of it, 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘 quickly got too ahead of herself as her speed grew faster. just as she was about to hit the curved turn, she fell flat on her ass; staying in that same exact spot. “now, what did you learn?” she asked herself out loud, folding her hands under her chin.

𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲

Growing up in Oakland, Calif., Trinette knew from an early age that she wanted to be an actress. But her contributions to Hollywood aren’t limited to starring in the Disney Channel reboot of “The Proud Family,” where she portrays the sassy teenage Penny Proud. With multiple movie titles and show cameos under her belt, the young star has emerged as a millennial fashion icon, and most recently a singer! We had the pleasure of sitting down with the superstar to get the real scoop of how she hid her hidden talent for so long.

“I was born to be an actress,” Trinette says, who is now 24. “My family built a life for me even before I was born, so of course I was going to follow in those footsteps. I didn’t know anything different than acting.” Indeed, with parents being the infamous Delilah and Jared Snider, it only made sense that the off-spring followed in their footsteps. First starting off small, Trinette was in small magazine spreads and quick band-aid commercials before landing small cameo roles in her parents movies. Her first big screen break was along side her mother in the blockbuster hit “Columbiana” and from there it was as if her face rose to fame quickly.

From then on, the roles seemed to pile in, ranging from “The Hunger Games” to both “Despicable Me” films, and she was soon a household name. Her biggest role, in her opinion, has to be Penny Proud in the Disney Channel live action reboot. “That was probably the best thing to ever happen to me. Growing up, all I wanted to do was make it to Disney Channel, or Disney in general. Watching Raven Symone, Hilary Duff and Kyla Pratt star in shows at a young age inspired me.” And to make it even better, it was the first thing her parents didn’t have any connections with. That was her first taste of freedom.

“I was so happy I got the show on my own,” says Snider, “I finally had something that I could say was all me.”

The show ran from 20112 to 2016, and had 4 seasons before Trinette decided to leave her Disney family behind for something new; music. Well, it wasn’t new in a sense, being that when you sign onto a Disney show you have to sign for a record deal with Hollywood Records. That is when Snider new she wanted to do music more than she wanted to act. The small songs she would record for TPF was fun and very teeny-bopper but it helped her learn the art of recording and mastering tracks. The only thing that stopped her was her parents. “I would sit in my room, or my trailer; anywhere honestly, and just write and practice my own harmonies. If I was going over lines I was going over lyrics in my dingy little notepad. My parents hated that my focus wasn’t on what they wanted it to be on.”

With the show complete and no new roles sparking her interest, she threw herself into fashion and music, in secrecy. She teamed up with her long-time stylist Luxury Law and perfected her style; breaking necks every time she stepped on a red carpet. And without her parents knowledge, she signed a deal with Sashabelle’s management label Seventh Ward Ent in 2016, and unexpectedly snagged a deal with Epic Records the following year. On her 21st birthday, Trinette release her debut EP “Sunrise” with the record company under the stage pseudonym “FEMME”. As a way to hide her identity as she began to blow up, she would hide her face under dark lighting in pictures, and created an instagram for her alter-ego, only posting cryptic pictures that didn’t show above her neck.

"I had to hide a whole person for two years. Didn’t attend award shows, had my label peers accept any awards I got, and acted as if I didn’t even know who FEMME was. I didn’t even tour after I dropped my debut album “Slow Burn” because I didn’t want my parents to find out and hate me for not wanting to solely act. But of course they know their child and found out it was me. To this day I still don’t know how they found out.” The songstress laughed. The Snider’s weren’t on board initially, mostly because the secret was hidden from them for so long, but of course they began to warm up to the idea of their daughter singing and even helped her hide her second self. A once scared Trinette finally felt at ease.

Finally in early 2019, after dropping yet another EP, “The Interlude”, Trinette finally revealed herself to be FEMME on Instagram live, after deactivating her main account. Of course, her fans went wild and she was all over the internet, with everyone trying to figure out how she managed to get away with such a great secret. Some even compared her hiding skills to the likes of Sia. Now ready to release her sophomore album, title unknown, Trinette often reflects on her passing years. “All I wanted once I was old enough to know what I wanted was to be me. Not Trinette Snider, daughter of blah blah blah. But Trinette, her own person. And I finally get to do that. Looking back at the sneaking around I think ‘Thank God I just went for it.’ Because if not, then what?”

since signing to SEVENTH WARD ENT, 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘 has been nothing but grateful that sashabelle saw potential in her, but she can’t help but to feel a little out of place. not comfortable with going to such an intimidating person, she decides to turn to 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗘 𝗔 since they have a similar musical style for advice and a little bit of mentorship to guide her through some of her troubling times music wise.

𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗘 𝗕 and 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘 have been friends for quite some time and is probably the only person who actually knows 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘 for who she really is. claiming each other as best friends, things often get rocky for the friendship since 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗘 𝗕 doesn’t know how to help her the way she wants to.

both being signed under the same label( or management group ), 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗘 𝗖 and 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘 have been around each other more than they would have liked to be. their personalities often clash even though both try to hide the tension, thus creating some sort of frenemies dynamic that often boils over from time to time.
