Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen. And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore. Surprise 🤗Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into. I wrote and recorded this music in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine; Aaron Dessner (who has co-written or produced 11 of the 16 songs), Bon Iver (who co-wrote and was kind enough to sing on one with me), William Bowery (who co-wrote two with me) and Jack Antonoff (who is basically musical family at this point). Engineered by Laura Sisk and Jon Low, mixed by Serban Ghenea & Jon Low. The album photos were shot by the amazing Beth Garrabrant. Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed. My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world. That’s the side of uncertainty I can get on board with. Love you guys so much ♥️

I mean, Lover is an awsome album, we haven’t even had a tour and yet so many swifties keep trying to find easter eggs about the next album everywhere. I’M NOT EVEN OVER REPUTATION 😂 Let Taylor enjoy her album and her writing process at HER pace 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

Lately I’ve come to the conclusion that Taylor is not going to release another single for Lover due to everything that’s going on right now. I mean it’s really sad and disappointing for all of us swifties who were expecting Cruel Summer 😭 but it’s a very wise move (both business and ethical). Can you imagine the amount of hate she would receive if she released anything at the moment? It would harm her image so much and everything she’s doing for the #BLM movement would become absolete.

I’ve been a fan since I was maybe 11 years old? I remember jamming “I’d lie” in my bedroom, thinking about the guy I had a huge crush on while visualizing a music video for an unrealeased song. Since then Taylor has constantly been a part of my life and, as she said in Miss Americana, I do too feel like we grew up together. To me she’s kind of the older sister who gave me advice, courage, support and teached me english 😹 (my native language is spanish). But I have never ever been to a Taylor concert cause there has never been one in South America and since I study and work, I couldn’t abruptly take off and go to one in the States or elsewhere. That’s why when I knew that she was going to Brazil, I said to myself YOU GOTTA GO. It’s not thaaaaat far away. And I bought my tickets, I was SOOO excited. Beyond words. I know its the right thing, but I cannot help but feel really sad that I may not be able to see her once again. I hope this passes, I hope that someday I can go to one of her concerts... but above all, I hope she’s and her family are safe 💙💙💙 I love her, and I know that somedaaaay... I’ll be singing (and mostly crying) at one of her shows.

I’m so sad I won’t be able to see you guys in concert this year, but I know this is the right decision. Please, please stay healthy and safe. I’ll see you on stage as soon as I can but right now what’s important is committing to this quarantine, for the sake of all of us.
