I think I’ll stick to my books, they’re the only adventures I know that have happy endings. Time won’t fly, it’s like I’m paralyzed by it; I’d like to be my old self again, but I’m still trying to find it.

@taylorswift , I am heartbroken to hear that Loverfest is going to be cancelled. I completely understand and support this decision, but it is received with a heavy heart.
What crazy times we live in, huh? Where birthday parties are celebrated digitally, and people have not gotten to see their loved ones in over a month. Times are tough, right now.
As someone who lives completely alone and is currently managing through a break-up, I feel it even more so than most. When you wake up to yourself and go to bed by yourself and no face to face interactions all day, it gives you time to reflect. And think. There are definitely times throughout the day where I enjoy the peace and quiet, but then there's other times that I would love nothing more than to spend the evening with some friends, doing really, at this point, anything. No, like really, I'd be happy to sit in front of a fire hanging out.
During this quarantine I've made it a point to make sure that I set time aside each week to video chat with friends, and interact with other people.
It's also tough dealing with a migraine disorder, and trying to manage spending less time in front of the computer but also trying to do my job effectively, when to be social the only thing you can do is spend time in front of a screen to see your friends and family.
I am worried for my friend who is pregnant, and those that she lives with do not respect the social distancing and are still going to see friends and other people.
I worry for my elderly relatives, who are trying so hard to distance and not contract this disease.
I worry for the mother who is laid off and is wondering how she is going to feed her children next week after she uses her stimulus to pay some of their bills.
I worry about the woman who is getting abused at home and no one knows about it because they are not allowed to leave the house.
I am worried about the children of the world who are being physically abused and neglected, and because the social worker cannot visit the home she will not know what is going on.
I am worried about our politicians, who some are not taking this seriously and are not following doctor's and other experts advice to continue social distancing.
Some advice I have been giving to people is to be kind to yourself, these are uncertain and troubling times that we live in, and we have to make sure we are being kind to ourselves and not setting expectations too high for ourselves. The entire country, and world really, is actively going through a trauma together, and when that happens we have to make sure that we are being nice to ourselves as well as others, because the things you mentally could handle doing before the pandemic might not be feasible for you to do right now, if all you can do right now is get up and watch tv, that's something to celebrate; tomorrow if you can shower and only vacuum, that's okay. I think we all need to be okay with what we can do rather than worry about what we are not doing. Things are going to be different for a while and we need to relearn what we can and can't do every day, and learn that it's okay to feel that way.
I hope that you get to be back on stage soon because your concerts are the highlights of my year, and all my stress seems to go away while at your concerts. They are always a memorable event. I think my favorite was the time at Gillette where it rained and you didn't stop singing, even though I was totally convinced that you were going to end the show as it was only halfway through when it started raining. That was one of the most magical nights of my life. When you came to Gillette for Fearless, and sold out the very first stadium show in your life within minutes. That was another magical night.
Hope to see you at Gillette Stadium next year!!!!

So going through a breakup during all of this, COVID-19 and being forced to work from home and to physically not be around people when that’s all you need and all you want, to have movie nights and staying up all night drinking wine and watching greys anatomy; and playing @taylorswift on records in the afternoon, and sleeping in every other day. Hoping that I can work enough to pay bills. Feeling a different type of alone that I’ve never felt before. These are definitely different times that we live in. Wondering if things will go back to normal, wondering if they ever were.

SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!!!
I was so excited when Andrew Lloyd Webber asked me to write an original song with him for CATS. “Beautiful Ghosts” is performed in the film by the extraordinary Francesca Hayward who plays “Victoria” and reprised by Dame Judi Dench (!!!!!) who plays “Old Deuteronomy” 😺 Coming soon!

@taylorswift thank you for this album; I never thought that one of the most exciting weekends of the year would also be one of the most heartbreaking-but your album was exactly what I needed to get through it.

Quote
Among mankind,” says Beauty, “there are many that deserve that name more than you, and I prefer you, just as you are, to those, who, under a human form, hide a treacherous, corrupt, and ungrateful heart.
Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve, Beauty and the Beast (via bookmania)
And this is why this is my favorite fairytale.
