i like weird tales ,  &  they never trouble me .

a dreadful sense of loneliness oppressed me .

i’ve gone back a little to refresh my memory .

i can find my way back to you .

let us get out of this horrible place at once .

other men have passed here before us .

we may find something rare  &  precious here .

i never have quite forgiven myself for stealing it .

i brought it away as a souvenir .

i have a little surprise for you ,  my love .

you are foolishly superstitious .

neither sleep ,  food,  nor air gives me strength .

i cherish the theory that the soul sometimes lingers in the body after death .

tawny  hues  watch  the  man  with  a  blank  look  masking  their  true  thoughts  and  feelings  ,  choosing  to  ignore  the  tone  with  which  his  question  was  delivered.  “  that  you  are  not  all  you  seem.  ”  spoken  with  such  simplicity  ,  such  finality  ;  they  wondered  if  he  would  question  them  further.  regardless  ,  they  had  more  to  say  on  the  topic.  “  your  façade  is  a  good  one  ,  i  do  not  deny  you  that  fact  ,  but  it  still  is  just  that.  a  façade.  ”  head  tilts,  predator  circling  prey.  “  tell  me  ,  oracle  ,  did  you  foresee  this  meeting  ?  or  do  you  perhaps  somehow  still  a  believe  in  chance  and  fate  ?  ”  fate  ;  such  a  familiar  concept  for  one  as  old  as  them.  it  was  disappointing  to  see  the  human  world’s  faith  in  it  dwindling  ;  oh  they  would  be  quite  upset  to  hear  of  it.

the  summoning  ritual  for  yzuhmika  is  arduous  to  perform  and  difficult  to  find.  though  it  has  been  detailed  several  times  across  history,  like  most  things  it  has  been  a  victim  to  time  ⧼  forgotten  to  the  sands  themselves  ⧽  only  select  books  retain  the  details,  and  the  pages  are  scattered  by  yzuhmika  herself  ;  a  deadly  scavenger  hunt.  a  design  crafted  meticulously  to  lure  in  those  of  curious  mind  —  who  could  resist  such  a  hunt  for  the  fabled  SAINT,  a  god  ;  a  terror.  once  the  pages  are  gathered  the  instructions  are  clear  and  yet  vague  all  at  once  ;   a  conundrum  wrapped  in  a  mystery.  the  words  are  difficult  to  pronounce  ;  a  long  since  forgotten  language,  and  yet  sound  deeply  familiar  to  those  who  speak  them  ⧼  careful  ,  practice  and  perfection  is  a  requirement  ⧽  ,  the  ritual  to  be  conducted  beneath  a  blood  moon  ;  perhaps  cliché  then  that  blood  was  the  sacrifice  thus  needed  to  draw  the  maiden  from  her  slumber  [  or  perhaps  this  is  an  addition  simply  meant  to  entertain ?  ]  the  timing  must  be  precise,  the  words  spoken  with  clarity  and  confidence  ;  encircled  withing  a  runic  marking  of  her  own  design,  the  blood  sacrificed  as  the  last  line  leaves  their  tongues.  any  sooner,  any  later,  and  who  knows  what  might  be  unleashed  in  the  lurking  fear’s  place  ?
