Strolling aimlessly in a bookshop is self care

being torn between the cottagecore aesthetic and the dark academia aesthetic is so annoying like.... do I want to gather daisies in a wildflower meadow or wander around gothic buildings? decorate my room with flowers and patchworks or old books and candles?? wear summer dresses or turtlenecks?? bake bread from scratch or commit a mysterious and inexplicable murder????

Things to do when you just can't make yourself study
make your bed
sort the laundry which starts piling on 'the chair', we both know there probably is some
read a book
go grocery shopping if you need to
go outside or even take a walk
do some light exercise
prepare a healthy meal
take a shower or a bath
do a face mask
basically do a self care, spa kinda day
reorganize your desk/stationery
clean your room a little bit
go through your clothes and think about what you could combine to save yourself some time in the following mornings
look on Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram or whatever to find some inspiration for hairstyles or outfits which make you feel beautiful and confident
go through your cosmetic products and sort out expired ones or those you know you won't use anymore
talk to friends or family members (if you can, it's understandable if that might be too stressful)
go play with an animal, be it your own or some other person's
write down your thoughts, feelings and goals
Sometimes we feel like we have to give it a 100% all the time - the funny thing is, that's exactly what makes us stress even more and causes us to sometimes be so overwhelmed that we just sit in our bed the whole day. And binge-watch some shows we've already seen like five times. Or maybe that's not the case with you, but for me it happens quite often, so here are a few things you could do instead of doing nothing, that have at least any benefit of some sort and could even be declared as 'productive'.
Feel free to add if you think there are other good alternatives! 😊

little things I’m grateful for today: fresh linens, homemade muffins, the changing morning light as we slowly begin to head towards autumn.
and coffee, of course, but I’m grateful for coffee every day of my life
