I’m supposed to be saving my orbs on this account for Lif! I had a couple hundred but then Intsys had to re-run the banner with the most dapper man in Fire Emblem on it! How could I say no? This is their fault! Now I have to Fire Emblem husbands... “This is Lukas and his husband Matthews, and Matthews husband Lif.”

I’m supposed to be saving all my orbs for Lif and Lif alts (and any potential 4 star Alfonse alts)! It’s supposed to be about the hubby and no one else! I’d been pretty good about not pulling on any banner aside from the free pull but...

- I don’t have a good flying unit - I don’t have a good archer unit - I don’t have a good green unit - All my feathers went to +10ing my Alfonse so I can’t 5 star this TT giveaway unit to help me TT faster - I love Inigo - I’m a sucker for the bunny alts So all my willpower and 50 orbs burned away... :( At least I got one with a good Trait set! Still feel like I let my gummy hubby down...

Matthews/Lif Head Canons - Lif x Summoner ((??Part 1??))

So I decided to jot down a few head canons I have about the relationship my Summoner Matthews has with Lif.

General:

- When Matthews approached Lif romantically Lif's heart and emotions long thought dead screamed for him to accept but he was open with the Summoner. As much as his heart would feel things he didn't think he ever would again there were other aspects of a relationship that he wouldn't be able to engage in. The physical ones, nor did he desire any of the physical aspects of a relationship so going forward with a relationship would be unfair to Matthews

- To his surprise this apparently delighted this version of Matthews who also had no interest in the physical aspects of a relationship Lif thought he'd be denying him. He's never been interested in that with Lif nor anyone else

- Matthews does love being in contact with Lif though, even if it's a small touch.

- Alfonse, once it came out that Matthews and Lif were an item made a comment about if that meant that Matthews had feelings for him as they are so similar to being the same person. Matthews said; 'Oh gods no!' and laughed leaving Alfonse feeling a bit hurt and confused even though he isn't interested in the Summoner that way

- Thrasir trolls Lif daily about this new love life of his but makes sure to never do it in a way that would cause him to doubt or hesitate with the relationship. Him being able to find this hope means there could be hope for her as well.

- Though she has brought up in seriousness the fact that there will come a point when Matthews will die and Lif will live on. Though she was shocked to hear that Lif and Matthews already had that conversation though neither will say what was said during that specific talk. - Lif is always down for sharing his cloak if the weather or circumstance requires it, sometimes he offers it even if it wouldn't be required normally. Like offering to help keep Matthews dry during a sun shower or if a stiff breeze blows for more than a fraction of a moment. All in the name of keeping the summoner safe of course...and yes Matthews does say yes 95% of the time.

- During those odd occasions where Lif tires to share his cloak or wrap a protective arm around Matthews but is rebuked due to circumstance or what have you Alfonse and Thrasir take turns telling Lif not to sulk.

- Lif gets irritated and always responds by asking how can they tell if he's sulking? He has a mask that covers most of his face. How can they tell any facial expression he has when he wears it?

- Yes, Lif always does sulk when his attempts at affection don't work out as planned, he just doesn't like the idea of anyone being able to tell

Matthews and Lif improve each other's lives:

- When Matthews touches him, Lif can feel it, through clothing, through armour; his body reacts as it would if he had still been alive and Matthews was touching his bare skin. It may be his be mind having some form of memory from when he was alive with his Matthews or there may be something special about this version of Matthews

- The feeling and warmth of Matthews' touch lasts anywhere from 15 to 90 minutes depending on how long the initial contact lasts

- Matthews is nyctophobic due to past events in his life, he tries his best to control it but when he fails Lif is both figuratively and literally his light in the darkness (most of Lif glows) that saves him from his fears

- Thanks to Matthews Lif has taken up meditation, being dead means he doesn't need to sleep he finds spending time relaxing, focusing, processing in quiet to help greatly

- Lif's meditations tend to last from just after Matthews has fallen asleep till the Summoner wakes up, assuming Matthews doesn't wake up in terror from his nightmares at which point the meditations are interrupted to help calm Matthews down

- Lif's meditative space just happens to be Matthews' bed, as Matthews sleeps against him, as he embraces the summoner...

- Matthews' most aggressive and horrific nightmares continue to go down in frequency and intensity the longer he and Lif are together. Matthews says it's because Lif just radiates so much strength, and such fierce protection that the nightmares are becoming afraid of him

Matthews and Lif embarrass the heck out of each other at parties:

- Lif gets embarrassed when the faster songs play and Matthews wants to dance, but seeing as he can't bring himself to say no he goes out and dances despite never really being in the mood.

- This results in Lif going rag doll and letting the dancing Matthews lead him about the dance floor

- Except when the music goes slow then the tables are turned as Lif will always end up slow dancing with such grace and presence that they end up the center of the dance floor with multiple eyes on them

- Neither of them will dance with anyone else

HUGE FEH ACCOUNT QUESTIONS!

Okay so I've definitely decided that Lif is Summoner Matthews' one true love so now I'd love some opinions on a few questions.

1. Should I save all my orbs for when Lif returns on a Legendary banner in order to work towards the dream of +10ing this beautiful monster? (Without investing $$$)

2. Should I give him every ability he can possible inherit? I see that done to stan or love accounts allowing for sometimes bizarre, unique or incrediboy radical content clearing builds based on the fight?

3. Would anyone enjoy reading any drabbles and headcanons of two asexuals deeply and awkwardly in love?

I’ve been away so long and there are so many new skills I have decided to re-do my original build for Lif. I mean he’s always been kind of done straight out of the box, or at least originally he was but apparently things have changed.  The biggest change is that I dumped Time’s Pulse 3 for Panic Smoke 3; there are two reasons why I did this. The first being that you can either have Deadly Balance or Time’s Pulse but honest there isn’t enough synergy to sustain both. The second being that while Panic Smoke won’t always be effective 100% of the time there are enough times where strategic deployment and attacking will allow Lif to deal with enemies he normally couldn’t while still getting a faster Special cooldown due to Deadly Balance.  The other choice I made that is super odd for me is Swap instead of my normal Reposition. There are seldom occurrences where I can’t use Reposition due to everyone’s positioning and/or the layout of the map. I can’t risk that with Lif; if I need him to be in a square then he NEEDS to be able to get in that square. The Sacred Seal choice of Swift Stance 2 is a simple matter of trying to cover his short comings the best way that I can. None of the better Sacred Seals do anything or if they would Deadly Balance is already doing it and things wouldn’t be able to stack. I know Lif is old, and not the most meta but I love him so much and prefer the original version to the new duo alt. I think I’ve done all I can, though the tweaks may be minor to make him a considerable threat to use in my new FEH adventure.

A Saga Of Love? Love Banner Summon Adventures

So...I made the Matthews account just because of this event. I mean look at Alfonse and Lif how could I not?

That was my starting orbs, in addition to these I farmed out another 25 orbs and 5 tickets between the Tempest Trial and quests. So how did I do? Please note I focused only on Alfonse at first only trying for Lif if red was the only option on the wheel (picking only a single red before closing out and moving on) or if I got a five star Alfonse at which point I picked all remaining red and green.

This is where I hit my 10th Alfonse (between 4 and 5 stars). In addition to getting his father I did hit two off banner five stars along the way and zero of those supposed four stars that turn into five stars.

With the Alfonse quota met I turned my attention to my beloved gummy husband Lif terrified that the FEH summoning system would wreck me as it has wrecked me so many times before. Doubly so because they don’t have a pity system in place for holiday banners...

But he came home! More proof that he and Matthews are meant to be!

Though he has one tinsy tiny problem...

Those traits! Oh those traits! They hurt!

So I turn to you FEH community. Do I use the remaining orbs I get this month to try to pull for more copies of my beloved gummy trying to hope to get at least one more in an attempt to wash away those terrible traits or do I just save up for a trait changing fruit and just save my orbs for....whatever comes that makes me care to spend them in the future which is currently Gatekeeper unless certain holiday alts come?

Maybe it has been the many, many months of living in a pandemic and the many, many, many months we still have to go but for some reason I really like the idea of Matthews (my summoner on this account) getting together with Lif. He was in the current legendary draw, and while I know the duo is coming the Lethal Swordsman variant is more thematically in line with how I see them being. The problem is that the draw system in FEH as we have all experienced is cruel and kind of trash, doubly so in the Legendary draws.  I had reached 300 orbs for my Love!Alfonse +10 quest and decided that if Lif and Matthews are meant to be I would get my gummy husband within 100 orbs. It took me 49 orbs! Meaning they’re meant to be!

Why do I call him my gummy husband? I mean it seems pretty obvious to me.

INTSYS makes me too angry to play my main account since I’ve uninstalled.  But between Gatekeeper winning and Love!Alfonse coming I wanted to play a little. Issue is on my actual account I may be tempted to spend money, and many, many things made me angry when I look at my account so...I created a new side account where I’ll start over, won’t be as mad and can’t spend money.  That is my main team, I chose Dimitri and Alm, got Marianne as my random guaranteed 5 star and a random off banner baby Dimitri on a random free pull. As a huge DImitri/Alfonse shipper I just think he wants to be with Love!Aflonse...

I was only able to grind out 214 orbs before I ran out of stamina and stamina potions I hope it’s enough to help me get Love!Alfonse healthily on the road to +10. When summer Sylvain came as the featured 4 star I dropped 170 orbs before getting my first one at four stars and lost my damned mind.

Also if I could get wifey, I mean possible husband on this account, Love!Lif along the way that’d be nice. <3

Seeing this post reminded me I wanted to show off my male Kris build. He's so pretty and so hard to kill. Not to the levels of Lukas but still...VERY pretty.

Yes, sometimes I like certain characters/ villains purely because they are hot and I am thirsty. No, I don’t need any other reason to justify myself to anyone.

LOOK! I ship Dimitri and Alfonse because ut was the most obvious and natural thing in the world. I had commented before about how I planned to of course ship time skip Dimitri with Lif I just had to figure out how. Good thing it's so obvious INTSYS did it for me!

Hey ya’ll I need help! What is your Eliwood - Knight of Lycia builds??

It’s been forever since I’ve been inspired to do one of these but they finally gave me a male healer I find super pretty and I can +10 him eventually via grails. I...am...in... So as a healer he should be making people buffer, and try to survive. Toasty Skewer gives def/res bonuses, def/res gap will make units like my little Lukas super buff also allowing me to ‘one man army’ with super units.  Att/Res Bond has a green 3 is because I may upgrade it to 4 and blow up my Queen Micaiah if the base statline of Rhys demands it for base functionality. The stat difference between Bond 3 and Bond 4 is rather small compared to the cost of blowing up a unit like the Queen.  The reason that Mirror Stance is the Sacred Seal as opposed to a second Bond is simply because...what if things go wrong? Or he needs to Wings to heal and can also now protect the person if they withdraw or move off to kill someone else by taking a magic hit?

Anyhow it feels like it has been 300 and 47 years since I have built a Feh character on paper so maybe this is total trash, no idea. Just my thoughts.

You might be looking at these builds for the upcoming Tempest Trial and think I'm mad!!

Well I wanna try to get more evil Corrin's so all my orbs are going to him.

But cause the builds are zany once Sothe gets the featured unit bonus Corrin, Eliwood and Sothe will all have the same attack meaning they will all get the Vision of Arcadia bonus!! So these boys are gonna be hitting like trucks!!
