the thing is the kpop industry markets idols as boyfriends/girlfriends and like. no matter how much we dont want to admit it. it kind of works like. we may not notice it until its too late but we do end up investing far too much of our time and happiness into these idols and like. which makes it so much more disappointing when something like this happens. but when someone comes out and exposes these idols we have to remember that like. these idols are not above us. they are people. they are absolutely capable of horrible disgusting things. they are not above it. and this mentality of defending them blindly needs to stop.

for those who haven't heard yet, mingyu has been accused of verbally sexually harassing someone when he was in middle school. note that this is a separate (though not necessarily unrelated) accusation from a bullying claim that was made against him the other day, which pledis denied after asking mingyu about it. the sexual harrassment post came out today and pledis/mingyu have not said anything yet
