Christmas shopping minus all the OUCH

It's the festive of giving, joy and fun again! Christmas is my absolute favorite amongst all the festivals and that includes my birthday. Well, I think I may be obsess with the idea of Christmas. I watched tons of US shows since I was a kid. For those who know me, I still do.

Christmas is always a huge deal over at the other side of the world, with all the snow, snow covered pretty (poor) trees, gorgeous winter clothing, fireplace, huge decorated trees in the house, etc. I insist on setting up my own Christmas tree each Christmas and demand pressies exchange.

Christmas is doing a lil something for someone else.

When we were younger, my brothers and I would play pretend and sneak into our parents' room at twelve midnight to leave their gifts on the table. And we would rummage through the box of socks to find the largest sized socks to stuff our presents in for one another. I know, it was fun being a kid. Time passes too fast.

I think we got our mum to be in the Christmas mood as well because last year she whipped up a whole table of feast and got a log cake to go along with the dinner. The funniest moment was her asking if I had taken photos of the food! Hahaha! We absolutely love her to bits for being spontaneous to our crazy, modern doing despite her not understanding why we young people do the things we do.

Okay, let me get to the point of this post. I've drifted way past the focus of today's post. Way too excited!

So this year due to my injury, I couldn't get out of my house to shop for presents which is kind of a pity. I'm missing out all the Christmas deal, the beautiful decorations and the songs that'll drown you in the joyous mood. But, that means I can avoid the messy crowd, the shoving and squeezing as well! 

Hallelujah to online shopping! I've discovered two websites that sell the coolest things! These two exquisite marketplaces carry some of the hippest items and it always fascinates me whenever I shop there.

First up is HipVan.

I personally love such items, gifts or not! Who don't? Isn't it such a joy to have something so pretty in your house? It makes me wanna organize my messiness and put them in these boxes. 

The next one is Fancy.

The products you can find in Fancy never fail to tug my heartstrings! They are so unique and cute that I simply just wanna grab them all. I know I had my friend hooked on after introducing her to it.

Unfortunately, some are at ridiculously hair grabbing prices which I can't afford to splurge on. And some just make you wonder who in the world would spend such money on such item. You can probably have a good laugh browsing through Fancy as well.

There are many, too many, e-commerce vendors out there. These two are particularly my favorites to shop and to simply browse at.

This bowl of "meepok all fish ball" never fails to get me to say yes whenever it comes up as an option for a meal. I've ate so many other stalls of this same order but it never came close to this. Or maybe I just appreciate my idea of rustic flavor. The chilli, pork lard and onion crisps tastes awesome together with the meepok and fishballs. It'd just gotten its validation from this friend who usually not finish her food emptying the entire bowl of this #localdeli.

She's an old lady with not too much to say because of language barrier and lack of education. She's very particular about nitty gritty things she's in charged of, or so she put herself in charged of. For example, hanging the clothes in the wardrobe in that certain manner and the sleeves of each clothing have to overlap one another neatly before closing the door. She checks on the clothes 3 to 4 times a day. We have no idea why. She wakes up at 2am in the night to wash the clothes even after telling her not to for years. She sits on the chair beside the door daily when she's done with her chores, staring out beyond the gates. She insists on climbing up on the chair to put the spoons and forks back into the container which is rather high for her despite our constant nagging and persuasion not to. Once in a while, she'll have to let out that lion she's been feeding in her and throw the most absurd, erratic and ridiculous tantrum at us. Sometimes it even gets violent. She forgets about it in a few days and goes on with life with us like nothing happened. Every close friends of mine knows my love hate relationship with her because she can be real mean and nasty, but she's old and I can't do nuts about it. Most of you all have met the lion in her face to face before and almost got eaten up but also because you're my friend, you all let it slide and still greet her politely whenever you see her. My heart almost stopped when my mum told me she hasn't been eating as much as before and it may or may not be a start of something I have to prepare myself for. I refused to talk about it. She has an appetite of a giant, and that's thrice my portion of a meal. Our house wouldn't be as complete without her, aside from all my regular complaints about her. This post is dedicated to my dear grandma. May she live long, prosper, and be in health.
