Hey my fellow white so-called radicals, I just want to check in real quick and ask if we’ve all processed the idea yet that an explicit white nationalist is currently the leading candidate for the leader of the largest colonialist military apparatus on earth.

When precisely do we stop acting like this is a joke? A friend of my family’s who lived through the Shoah/Holocaust says this is what Germany felt like before the war. Think about that for a second. Does that sound funny to you? Do you think that’ll make a good Facebook meme?

Where’s the white leftist resistance? Donald Trump has literally publicly said there should “absolutely” be a national registry of American Muslims. When asked how that would be different from the Nazi party’s registry of Jews, he only responded “you tell me.” You can google that. In fact, PLEASE google it. He has called our Latino emigrant brothers rapists. He JUST publicly stated that a black man, violently assaulted at one of his rallies while people chanted “all lives matter,” deserved it. Where’s the white leftist resistance at? When do we cut the bullshit, get on the streets, and get our actual physical bodies between these Brownshirt fucking pricks and our comrades of color? When do we start fucking listening to what black and Latino and Muslim organizers have been saying? Shit, at what point exactly do we start making shelters in our attics? 

Trump wants to make a registry of Muslims. Trump wants to make a registry of Muslims. Trump wants to make a registry. Of. American. Muslims. 

Does that compute? D'you wanna tell your kids you hid behind your white skin during this era? You know this IS the civil rights era, right? I’m fucking appalled and disgusted and, above all, I am ashamed at the complacency of white folks treating this as a joke. People *support* this man. Our dentists, our mail carriers, our lawyers, our senators, and definitely our fucking cops. But we’re acting like this shit is impolite to bring up at the dinner table. 

This is already happening. People of color are already in the streets. When do we start listening to them? When do we join in? When do we start laying our fucking cards down? Because if we don’t, we might as well fuck off and stop pretending to have any moral relevancy whatsoever.
