I meant to post this a while ago, but I got distracted. I’m still glad I remembered the point of why I was gonna post it.
Anyway, so this is a picture of the professional model that goes by the name of Felice Fawn. From my memory, this photoshoot was taken place in Canada (am I right), in a woody area to, of course, set the scene of “Native Americans”, hence why she’s wearing a headdress that is still sacred to the ethnicity, hundreds of years after they suffered almost as much as any ethnicity that had the privilege to meet the extremely kind “white people”.
So why is she wearing that in the first place? Who the fuck knows. Is it racist? It could be. But to me, it’s incredibly disrespectful to Native Americans everywhere. Being 1/4th (as if that counts haha) Cherokee, and knowing about the history of the true first people of North America, this makes me want to puke all over her exposed chest. And blank stare that got her so many shoots as a professional model (even though she sits on her ass all day pleasing her Tumblr fans).
Felice—and many others who think it’s fine and dandy to wear headdresses—do you know what a headdress was used for? How disrespectful that shoot was to those who know what it is used for?? I doubt it. Being half naked just adds more shit to the toilet. It completely shames Native American woman (to me). I wish you did that shoot right here in New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, and other states where Native Americans still hold tight to their sacred ways.
I have this Asian bamboo hat that I bought from China Town. I used to wear it when I went to my brother’s football games so I wouldn’t get a face tan from my glasses. My mom told me not to wear it, but I said no because I thought she said I looked stupid. But I didn’t think I did, so I kept wearing it. But one time I did, also wearing my Sailor Moon shirt, a lot of Asians kept staring at me. Most with disgust. I felt uncomfortable and asked why I was getting all these weird looks. My mom said that I was discriminating the Asian ethnicity by wearing that hat. I had no idea I was, because I did buy it in China Town, and thought that it was okay to wear it. I didn’t know I was being mean to someone without even saying anything.
So if Felice didn’t know she was discriminating/disrespecting/being fucking stupid by doing this photoshoot with the headdress and being half naked, then I get it. I just hope she knows how dumb she looks and never does this again. Even tagging this as thinspo, which she says that she doesn’t support and is recovering from her eating disorder (that’s as true as me saying I’m Oprah Winfrey), also with “native”, “tribal”, etc etc, that’s just fucking STUPID JESUS FUCK. I’m scared to look into those tags on here, already knowing that there will be more pictures of ignorant white teenagers with headdresses on or wearing those “tribal” prints from Urban Outfitters.
And where did Felice get her “professional” modelling advice from? A fucking wall?
/end rant.

Does the top photo remind you of anyone?  It was taken by a lady named Rhiannon in a photoshoot that took place in August of 2011. http://cvnts.blogspot.com/2011/08/its-been-while.html
Lauren’s photoshoot was done in January 2012.  I can’t imagine where she got the idea.
