decides to take a couple of weeks off work because why not. wakes up. goes, "a good holiday activity which is also very relaxing could be reading the bible"
#not for religious reasons obviously#also one of the most contradictory and unclear reads ever so far#which knowing its transmission history is more than justified and hugely interesting from an anthropological standpoint#but knowing that there are people who still use the bible as a justification for the goodness of their opinion is infuriating

i really do live in a humanities bubble because the comparison with people who do not, in fact, want to keep studying for a living is like a culture shock

so i've been on a medium-low dose of ssris (citalopram) since february 2024 and now very slowly tapering off and i think they should make making any sort of conscious effort towards balance while on meds illegal..... and to this you will say: "but tumblr user femcharlemagne, medication is just a tool that acts on the symptoms, while talk therapy acts on the causes and you still have to do the work!" I KNOWWWWWWWWWWWWW i just. want to complain >:(
#i hate having anxiety about having anxiety you know???#like i'm irrationally afraid it will come back with the same intensity as before#and my boyfriend actually gave me a really good piece of insight#which i have been thinking about since: my meds didn't do the things i've done since going on them; i did#which of course is something that i'm rationally aware of but hearing it come from someone else is different#i am responsible for the good and bad i bring in the world??

ideal living situation is what i call the 'sitcom special' : having all your closest friends live in the same apartment building or neighborhood where you each have your own space but can wander in and out of eachothers homes at will, seemingly always welcome and never at bad times. and also all of you only have jobs when its important to the plot.
#basically my friends and i on erasmus#and the prime reason why i didn't kill myself in germany lol#right now it's the opposite which is having friends everywhere BUT close to you

you aren't insane you just live with your parents
you aren't insane you just live with your parents
you aren't insane you just live with your parents
you aren't insane you just live with your parents
#real talk#sadly this is the most financially responsible and convenient thing for me rn#but god do i yearn for Alone Living.

there's this friend of mine from the phd and he's very canonically handsome thus has no problem attracting women you know... but there is something that makes him unappealing to me in that sense? he's the whole package (has the looks, is interesting and cultured and whatnot) but he lacks a certain je ne sais quoi to me. do i really have such warped tastes in terms of people (men in this case)

we can't even get a basic "all men structurally benefit from a misogynist society" to pass on this website without a bunch of queer men shooting themselves into a panic cause they get too uncomfortable about the idea of being culpable to self reflect. "feminist" website

1,600-year-old lead curse tablet in the Museo Archeologico Civico di Bologna, of unknown provenance. — "The first known surviving curse directed at a Roman senator. ... The text is written mainly in Latin with Greek invocations ... 'Crush, kill Fistus the senator,' part of the curse reads, 'May Fistus dilute, languish, sink and may all his limbs dissolve …' " — Image a composite of photo and drawing found at The History Blog
