Feminism: A Historical Outlook
77 posts
To read this blog I suggest you scroll to the bottom and work your way up so the posts are in chronological order. This is to represent how people have forgotten the roots of feminism, as you have to do a lot of searching (scrolling) to get to the beginning of the movement.

In sum:
Rather than educating each other and having a healthy dialogue and discussion feminists and anti-feminists alike have resorted to ridiculing one another. As feminism is continually changing everybody’s definition and personal relationship with feminism is different. While the history of feminism has been founded on the cohesion amongst people and continual inclusivity, the movement has taken a sudden turn towards exclusivity.
We must learn from the feminists before us and come together. While we must still advocate for our beliefs, we need to respond to people with different beliefs with kindness, and talk to them and educate them rather than attacking them. The truth is, many white feminists and trans-exclusionary feminists probably don’t know that their actions are problematic, and do not respond well to being attacked for their naivety. We do not need to let problematic feminism slide, but we should see it is a learning opportunity. People with more knowledge on the subject should be able to teach those with less knowledge. Empowered women need to empower other women.

I don’t think we should call TERFs and SWERFs “radical feminists” because there’s nothing rad about being a piece of shit

Unfriendly fucking reminder that TERFs, SWERFs, and really any other self identified “radical feminists,” “gender abolitionists,” “womyn-born-womyn,” or anyone whose feminism is “female centric” (ie excludes trans women) are not fucking welcome here. You are not welcome to this space, to my posts, or anywhere near me. Get lost.

This is your friendly reminder that trans exclusionary radical feminism hurts the movement and contributes to systemic transgender oppression and we are not about that.  😎😎😎😎😎😎
*Editors note: TERF stands for Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminism. Because we are made for and by queer and trans people, and because we want to end sexist and gendered oppression, we do not condone the exclusion of transgender, gender queer, or gender non-conforming people. If you find that your feminism polices transgender people, particularly trans women, find ways to invest in better feminism like reading some articles from Black Girl Dangerous, Autostraddle, or subscribing to next month’s QT Talk newsletter so you can remove that practice from your feminism and work towards a better liberation. *

Genuine question, but why do TERFs think that sex-based oppression doesn’t apply to trans people?? And why are the adamant on excluding and erasing the experiences of trans people who have dealt with sex-based oppression?
