to shed the cultural connotations of the reddit atheist for a second, i find a lot of difficulty in talking to devout people because, well, to be unkind, they hold made up bullshit as a tenant of their worldview and it bleeds into their thought processes on other matters, and it's hard to not just say "okay but that's not real?"

i’ve had this comic sketched out for months but only decided to finish it now, it’s based on something i drew a couple years back of toph and zuko….don’t think too hard on when or how this takes place because i don’t really know either! it’s just a concept i’ve always wanted to draw

"i use queer because it fits me better than any other label!!" you use queer because unfortunately for you, "gay", "lesbian" and "bisexual" are specific terms with concrete meanings that do not apply to your reality but you still want to feel like you're special and unique and not just another "boring" straight so you call yourself queer because you know it's a bullshit word with no real meaning which means nobody can really prove or disprove that it applies to you so now everyone has to tolerate your presence in spaces that were originally meant for same-sex attracted people. hope this helps
