I think a lot of people have only a surface level understanding of bodily autonomy. I've talked to people who are pro surrogacy and pro sex industry because they think women should be able to do what they want with their bodies, including sell them. But under that model, you're selling away your own bodily autonomy. You cannot be fully in control of yourself while under financial coercion. You can't have the choice to end a surrogate pregnancy at any time when you rely on that money to get by, and the same for women in the sex industry. You cannot consent to sex when the alternative is not having enough money to pay rent. The buying and selling of bodily functions is a removal of autonomy, not an expression of it.

So a black woman was released from jail five months after she was arrested for "abusing a corpse" because she had a miscarriage in a restaurant bathroom.

Her name is Mallori Patrice Strait, and she is 33 years old. This is her.

I distinctly recall raising concern that this would happen to women in anti-abortion states when this happened to Brittany Watts in Ohio and I distinctly recall pro-lifers saying this wouldn't not lead to women getting arrested for miscarriages.

It's also not lost on me that these two women are black, and pro-lifers spent years arguing that their policies were meant to "protect the black population."

While you all justify Adriana Smith's case in Georgia, I wanna hear the 'pro-life' explanation for this.

I want all the "protect black babies" people and the "abortion is black genocide" people to step forward.

I just want to talk.

no its fine it just is making me feel completely insane that woman hating is so ubiquitous and deeply rooted that if you're not doing it that can make you stand out, just because its so common, but the open and shameless hatred of men is not acceptable EVEN A LITTLE even in SMALL DOSES even in all female environments. i feel like a crazy person. thats my oppressor im hating!!!! i don't think it's correct to call any conservatives gender-critical. they may be critical of transgenderism as a concept, but not for the same reasons that feminists are critical of gender itself. they see it as just another form of icky non-conformity, rather than the logical endpoint of all the sexist stereotypes they promote.
