If you're struggling to keep going after your dreams, I find it's incredibly helpful to remember that just being human alone is hard. As Glennon Doyle said, "Being human is not hard because you're doing it wrong, it's hard because you're doing it right." It's important to acknowledge that life will always have challenges, and to shift your mindset to embrace the fact that it was never meant to be easy. In this spirit of resilience, a pic of my Dad and I today. Despite undergoing four weeks of radiation, he's still smiling and almost at the finish line with only one more session to go!!!!! When I was first approached to speak at an event, I was surprised (shocked actually), that anyone would want to hear me speak. Seriously doubting my ability to bring any value to the audience. Similarly, when first invited to speak at a university, with my lack of formal education, I was taken aback. But through my journey of now speaking at many engagements, including with fortune 500 companies, all different types of events, schools, TV, podcasts, and seeing how my story helps people, I have come to understand the serious importance and impact of sharing one's personal narrative. No matter how different that might be from the traditional. My story encompasses themes of entrepreneurship, the creation of something from nothing, and the resilience and determination required to overcome adversity. So, I wonder, what is the captivating story that lies within you, waiting to be shared with the world? Maybe it’s time you start telling it. I am often asked what I do and why I do it. My journey in entrepreneurship started in 2009 when I launched my first company, @femme_fatale_media At the time, I was a young woman searching for purpose and direction in my life. I was struggling to make ends meet, and I felt lost without any clear passions or goals. But one day, I read a book that changed everything. It was about how to make a great living doing what you love, and it made me realize that the only job I had ever truly enjoyed was working as a promotional model. Although it may seem small, the opportunity to attend events, network, and have fun was a dream come true for me. And so, I decided to start Femme Fatale Media, an event staffing agency that provided models, hosts, and other staff for events. As I grew and changed, so did my company. I expanded from just providing event staff to other types of staffing. We expanded our cities, then countries. Today, Femme Fatale Media is the premier event staffing agency in North America with over 20,000 staff across the continent. At Femme Fatale Media , we are dedicated to providing exceptional talent and service to our clients, and we are committed to building a diverse team of highly skilled and professional staff who are reliable, dynamic, and dedicated to delivering an unforgettable experience for every event. We strive to empower women and men, and captivate audiences, and that is why I continue to do (part of) what I do. Now friends, what do you do? Share your story and your business links below! 💫 #events #entrepreneurslife #staffing #talent #models #eventstaffing https://www.instagram.com/p/Cn0C5AIuLmu/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Grief is something always present in our lives. We may try to escape it. Pretend it's not there. But it has a way of always catching our attention. But we can keep going. We can choose to honour those we’ve lost by still living. By still loving. I've learned that pain and happiness can coexist. That It's possible to feel both at the same time. And it’s okay, too. Grief will always be there, but it's up to us to make the choice to not let it slow us down. To not lose focus and to keep moving forward. Remembering and honoring those we've lost, by finding joy and happiness in the midst of pain. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cnph1QBOxSt/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I have a tendency to go a little overboard sometimes. Whether it's in my outfit choices, my dance moves, or my sense of humor, I can't help but be a bit much. But hey, life is too short to be boring, so why not add a little extra sparkle to everything we do? https://www.instagram.com/p/Cnm7DApO2AA/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I learned how to love by what I lost. Every loss, every heartbreak, every disappointment, taught me what I really wanted and needed in love. I learned how to grow from being stagnant. Every challenge, every obstacle, pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me to become a better, more resilient person. I learned how to win by failing. Every failure, every mistake, was just a stepping stone to success. It taught me valuable lessons and helped me to persevere. I learned how to be grateful by experiencing hardship. Every difficult moment reminded me of the blessings I have and the things I should be thankful for. I learned how to be independent by relying on myself. Every time I had to rely on my own strengths and abilities, when I was truly alone, I discovered just how capable and resourceful I am. Everything I didn't want, taught me what I did. Every negative experience, every disappointment, showed me what I truly desired and valued in life. And through it all, I discovered my true strength and resilience. https://www.instagram.com/p/CnDIrZTuKXh/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

What does it mean to have grit? Grit is not about never giving up. It's about never giving in. It's about pushing through the tough times, facing your fears, and coming out stronger on the other side. It's about having the courage to be vulnerable, to ask for help, and to take risks. It's about being honest with yourself, about your weaknesses and your strengths. It's about being true to who you are, even when it's hard. Grit is about having the courage to be your best self, no matter what life throws your way. So, here is to being a little (or a lot) more gritty in 2023. 💪❤️ https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm7T0MnuMry/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I’ve thought a lot about the failures in my life. Those epic, monumental experiences where you think everything is over. They’ve been my greatest teachers. So, I wanted to share the 10 things I've learned from my greatest failures. 1. Its unavoidable and even essential 2. Use the experience as a motivator for positive change and growth. 3. Setbacks are temporary 4. Don't be afraid of failure: Fear of failure can be a powerful inhibitor of progress. 5. Take risks: Taking calculated risks can lead to great rewards. 6. Persevere. Always. Stay focused on the goal and keep pushing forward. 7. Be willing to try again differently 8. Learn to accept criticism 9. Find a great support system 10. Focus on the outcome rather than the failure: Instead of dwelling on what went wrong, think about how you can use your experience to make sure it never happens again and to achieve success. Everyone experiences failure in their life, but it is how we respond to it that will determine whether or not we reach our goals. With focus and determination, you can use your setbacks as stepping stones towards achieving greatness. (at Stratford, Ontario) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cl7K026u3dU/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
