I feel like people use "I can't read I'm an undertale fan" almost. Like. Too liberally?? Like of course if someone misgenders Kris then by all means make fun of them as much as possible, but people also use it to bash people's interpretations of a game (gameS if you include deltarune) where a lot of things are up for interpretation (or in deltarune's case, a game that's not even finished). If that doesn't happen as much here then don't get on my ass about it My main platform is twitter where this happens like every day.

I know Kris's skin being yellow is probably a Frisk reference but Hey if Frisk's skin is yellow to make them look less normal (Toby fox email) then maybe Kris's skin being yellow is both a Frisk reference and a way for us the player to see Kris as abnormal, the same way all the monsters around them do.

I don't think the soul being put into Noelle is gonna be proof of her getting a soul and being controlled by a player or anything (especially considering the original flower visual which mostly represents a loss of innocence in believing everything was just a dream)

I actually interpreted it as more of a "Noelle will do what you say since she's in the thorn ring trance". Hence looking forward to seeing Kris, maybe feeling dependent on them to make choices for her now?

I don't really know though if I'm being honest. I still have a feeling Toby's gonna wake up Berdly in the weird route for the purpose of giving the illusion of 1 ending. I say illusion because there's no way it's only 1 ending why would he do that at this point.

But yeah I think some deltarune fans tend to take things too literally (ex. Kris losing their hand)

I remember talking about this with my therapist once like a year or two ago. Basically my talking point was that deltarune could be a REALLY good metaphor for autism depending on how you look at it.

You have this protagonist who's socially withdrawn, prefers to be alone, is usually mumbly, has/had some sort of special interest/fixation on magic at some point, doesn't like being touched... i was like THATS SO ME BRO.

Not only that, but you could even look at it from a story standpoint. A character who's PHYSICALLY different from everybody else. So much so that they wish they could be a monster just like everybody else. I know a lot of the time i wish i was neurotypical like everybody else.

Being physically controlled by another being that can occasionally force you to do things that are socially acceptable? That's kind of what masking feels like. It's automatic. At some point you don't even try to be normal like everybody else, it just happens, and you can't stop it. Eventually you have to force yourself to just be YOU. I still have to remind myself when I'm alone that it's okay to do certain things, like shaking my hands, etc.

Now with chapter 3 and 4 out I haven't really thought too much about how to apply it there, maybe I can't do it at all. That's fine with me really, I'm happy with deltarune as a story, and I overall don't think this would be a story Toby would write. I also don't really see him as the type to confirm a diagnosis like this for a character. It's just a thought i like to have. Kris Dreemurr my autistic monarch.

me when I remember that a character whose normal state is being very mumbly and untalktative/strange finding more success in life when they are controlled by someone who forces them to be more confident/say things that arent exactly true to their nature/do things they're not comfortable with

and PERHAPS

potentially feels so exhausted by/opposed to/upset with being someone they're not all day, being perceived as someone they're not by those who they are close to, that they feel the need to rip this control (this facade) out of themself when they are alone just so they can do what they really want for a few minutes....

is a really good autism metaphor.
