“When I started my musical career, I was a maid,” she told the audience. “I used to clean houses. My parents, my mother was a proud janitor. My stepfather, who raised me like his very own, worked at the post office and my father was a trash man — they all wore uniforms. And that’s why I stand here today in my black and white and I wear my uniform to honor them.”

people can care about multiple things at once, though. you can care about the legalization of homosexuality, lgbt homelessness rates etc. AND care about the normalization of unconventional pronouns both at the same time. not to mention blaming the community for their own oppression sounds like victim blaming, i just don’t really see a point in doing it, and it doesn’t get anyone very far at all. not saying it IS victim blaming, but it sure sounds like it.

ok and? doesn’t change the fact erasing neopronouns won’t solve anyone’s problems. language evolves, and it doesn’t hurt anybody. at all.

FUNDS NEEDED BY 24 OCTOBER 2019: $145 / $3000
I am a transgender male who has been on HRT for about three years now. Since I have started HRT I have had the wonderful side effects of no longer have monthly issues of periods.
I saw this as an amazing thing that helped with my dysphoria; however, recently I have been getting more and more cramps and severe amounts of pain much like I had when I would get periods. The pain gets so severe that I cannot even walk or move, and sometimes this causes me to miss work. And unlike when I did have these monthly problems, this is happening more and more frequently throughout the month. I went to the doctors and they stated because of my family’s history of have Cervical and Endometrial cancer (both on my mother and father’s side), that I would need to get a hysterectomy to not only combat this, but also to combat the pain from the endometriosis of it that seems to be causing the issues. So we set the date for the 24th of October, 2019 for my surgery to take place, and I am supposed to have pre-op on the 9th.
I was originally told my insurance was going to cover most of it, and I wouldn’t have to worry; however, I got a letter today stating that for just the surgeon costs /alone/ it would be $1,073.00.

(This is not including what I will have to pay for hospital facility fees, anesthesia fees, and pathology fees. This is why I am at least asking for $3,000 to try and cover the other fees that are going to be request by these facilities.) So either my options right now are cancelling the surgery and suffering more to the point where it’s affecting my job and ability to stay up to get income, or I get the surgery and end up in debt. I desperately need help with this surgery, especially since it could help save me from getting cancer in the future.
Please, if you can spread the word or donate, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hello, I was the op of another post sharing a two-spirit flag but I later found out the creator holds harmful beliefs against other lgbt folks so I’ve decided to make my own. I wanted to create something with meaning as well as something that would be an easier design to create with art/merch.
In the back there are 9 colours; four on each side of a brown stripe representing indigenous people as being Two-Spirit is directly tied to our indigineity.
Not only do the colours express the variance in feminine gender identity on the red to grey side but the red represents the strength of femininity, the pink represents boldness, the light pink represents kindness/compassion and the grey represents a blank slate where we make our own definitions.
Not only to the colours express the variance in masculine gender identity on the blue to grey side but the dark blue represents the strength of masculinity, the medium blue represents learning and seeking truth, the light cyan represents vulnerability/gentleness and the grey represents a blank slate where we make our own definitions.
The triangle with the four colours symbolizes the medicine wheel: the four directions, four sacred medicines, four main teachings, four seasons and the four stages of life.
The green circle represents yourself, balance and harmony and connection with our home Mother Earth.
I made two versions of the flag, one of how it would look exactly as a flag and another so it can be used for square merch or art.
everyone PLEASE reblog. Indigenous lgbt folks should see that we can use our own flags and symbols as well as everyone should know that we don’t have to settle for creators who are harming others in our community.
If there are any critiques from fellow indigenous people, feel free to get in contact with me but otherwise I DON’T WANT TO HEAR IT (looking at you white people who said unwanted/useless things on the last post).
Thank you!
