Hello, I am an anon who wishes to learn of love and what it is to exist. I was named Ferdinand by a special ladybot...

"If you don't like them, we could always go check out those sunflowers..."
She pointed at a large patch of them, that were indeed glowing like small suns, their leaves and stems giving off a faint green glow as well.
Dying to Meet You
“I don’t think the gardeners would be happy to find you killed their flowers.” Ferdinand skipped over to them, avoiding a few little puffs of fire and smoke.
“They’re kind of feisty. I think they’re cute!”

Dying to Meet You
“It will be my pleasure. Now.” Turning on his heel, he shifted back to a girl in the blink of an eye. “My Princess. Shall we continue looking over these lovely flowers? I think those dragon snaps over there are demanding our attention.”

Dying to Meet You
Ferdinand let out a whoop, and quite unceremoniously wrapped the Queen in a hug, lifting her up to spin her around.
“Oh I shall not let you down my lovely lady Queen! I shall make Charming the happiest anon to ever exist!”

Dying to Meet You
“Ah but my Queen, have we not given her the most valuable treasure one can give anyone they care for?” He stood, spreading his arms wide.
“My time. My undying devotion. And most of all, the effort to be the best for them any being could be. No beast-slaying or glittering jewel could rival such a thing.”

“If those animated films are anything to go by, that is the best way to go!” He spun around, taking the Queen’s hand and dropped to one knee.
“My Queen and Majesty, will you give me your blessing in marrying your daughter-sometimes-son Prince-Princess Charming? I, Ferdinand, anon of love, seek their hand. I will be a devoted spouse, as devoted as any could desire.”

Wish tries their best to pay attention, but a few pages in, their eyes start to droop. Slowly but surely, their eyes slide shut and their breathing slows, the outline of their body blurring.
Ferdinand wrapped an arm around them, not sure if she could keep them here, but trying anyway. It was kind of interesting, watching the young anon's outlines fade.

“Maybe we could plant her under some forget-me-nots. Or Lay her against the weeping willow so she will be forever mourned.” He looked her over consideringly, then nuzzled his nose against her neck, puffing air and tickling with his lips.
“I know I shall certainly never forget her!!”

She felt the old pain, faintly. and rested a hand on his shoulder.
"Everyone can love. It's a scary thing, love is. So powerful, and overwhelming. You're right- it does cloud the mind and addle ones wits. But I have also seen love make one quicker, stronger, better able to fight for what they want and desire."
She raised the hand to gently place it against his cheek. "And love hurts. It can hurt quite a lot. But someday I hope you do find someone who can make that pain worth it."
Leaning forward, she kissed his forehead. "Because to someone out there, you are worth loving."
“I don’t do biopsies or autopsies unless necessary,” he assured her. “As I said, I won’t do anything to you anyway, since it’s obvious you have a lover and are indeed preparing for a family.” He raised an eyebrow at her question, and his head tilted again.
“Of course not. I have people I trust, but there are too many variables and sacrifices needed in romantic relationships. There always remains the likelihood of betrayal, even after you’ve committed and let them see all your weaknesses; those just make it easier for you to get stabbed in the back. Love is unnecessary in my line of work.”

“It seems so.” With a sigh, she shifted back into a he, hefting Charming up. “I suppose she IS just a silly girl after all. If a pretty one.” He winked.

Dying to Meet You
Ferdinand tried to look stern, but she was obviously failing that attempt.
With a laugh she gave in, going over to pull Charming up Into her arms. “You fiend, I can never stay mad at you. Not when you are so clever with words.”
Ferdinand smiled at the Queen. “And I am glad you let her take those classes, it is so much more fun for me.”

With a blink and a gasp, Ferdinand jumped away. Pointing dramatically, it exclaimed “How fiendish of you! I’d have thought better of my love, but such an addict to flattery are you, you continue to desire it even above your own well being!”
She turned on her heel, crossed her arms, and put her nose in the air. “Henceforth you shall have no flattery from me! Not today anyhow.”

“I think it just gave me a scolding.” She snorted, tucking the petal behind her ear. “And it certainly tried to give me what for with that stomp didn’t it? I think they’re kind of cute, the rude little things.”
She went over and wrapped Charming in a hug. “And thank you for defending me good lady.”

Ferdinand seemed to droop. "Oh. I see. That must be... terribly lonely. I'm sorry you feel you have to live that way. Unless you really are happy! But still." She landed, folding her hands behind her back.
"Do you love your work then?"
As she replied, Eliott shuffled closer, the hems of his jeans scraping lightly against the carpet, his stare still fixed on Ferdinand. His head tilted a bit, like a curious dog facing something it hadn’t seen before, and he stopped with a foot or two of space between them, having to look down from his height of just around six-and-a-half feet.
“…Interesting,” he remarked after a moment or two of silence following the other’s answer. “In the future, I hope to be able to examine at least one of your kin; Benson would chide me if I did so to you.”

Wish snuggles down into the chair, drawing their knees up to their chin. *W-will you read to m-me?*
"I most certainly will. But I think I'll read a different book for this..."
She held out her hand, eyes half closed, and a book appeared, dropping into her hand.
"Oh this seems like a good one... action, adventure, magic, heartbreak, a good place to start."
Taking a breath, she started to read...
"Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much. They were the last people you'd expect to be involved in anything strange or mysterious, because they just didn't hold with such nonsense..."

“Excuse me, don’t give me that stare young flower.” She poked it in the ‘belly’. “You ran into me, and I am sorry you lost such a pretty petal. This just means you can grow a new, prettier one now.”
She picked up the fallen petal, shaking it a little. “Besides, if this one hadn’t of been ready to fall, it wouldn’t have. So there.”

“Now I’ve really seen everything!” Kneeling, she helped right the little plant. “What sort of plant are you supposed to be now? A Toesy Tulip?”
Science really was amazing. Singing, dancing and walking plants! What was next?

Dying to Meet You
Ferdinand kissed the flowers petals in goodbye, and ran over to join the other two as the flowers sang.
It was a lovely song, and she was sorry when it ended, the ‘instruments’ sounding off the final notes, and the dancers took their bows.
Overhead, willow-like trees shook their branches, leaves spiraling down like confetti.
“Bravo, bravo! You are all so lovely, and what talented dancers! Thank you for the show!” She clapped.
