a few nights ago lotus and poison, iconic performers and trans women, were viciously attacked at legends gay nightclub. nobody intervened in a supposed community space. please help cover their medical expenses and show them they are not alone. they were absolutely let down, and what kind of community doesn't help its most vulnerable? consider showing them support both emotionally and financially after this dual trauma of abuse and neglect.

Ok the da Reddit is doing a thing where people on the sub vote for the best companion, quest, song, whatever from each of the games and this is making me feel crazy. The DAO one is the only quest on this list that I wouldn’t consider one of the worst companion quests from each game

I like how Anders and Orsino clearly know who the other is personally in TLS even if you've never brought Anders along to see him earlier in the game (and Hawke doesn't directly introduce them if you do). There really is this whole other implied parallel story in DA2 about wtf is going on with Anders in his mage liberation underbelly of Kirkwall life that I sort of adore.

the veilguard codex entries are really incredible bc you got stuff like:

"secrets are lies that are true". brother you could not force that sentence out of me with waterboarding. this has the energy of when you're gming a fantasy game and your party does something really unexpected, and you have to panickingly make up a Cryptic Saying™️ on the spot. except even if i was panicking i wouldn't write this. what does ANY of this mean? dirthamen my boy i am so sorry. i treasure the 2.5 codex entries he had in dai, this is just Nothing. it's like refrigerator magnet poetry.

then there's these three, on the topic of "incomprehensible takes on what slavery or empires are like"

golden scissors? what???? and also. damn. that's so crazy. imagine if tevinter had already conquered and occupied elven cities and forced the descendants of the elves from there into slavery... waow. that would be almost like they were already an empire and a threat. luckily they have the uhhh. progressive voting bloc still holding out in tevinter! so the crows don't have to do anything risky <3 yay <3 also they do buy children as slaves and then train them to be killers <3 but in a nice and freedom loving way

also it's fucking Hilarious for the crows to be Elven Allies™️ after what zevran says about them. lmao. also why do the elves need help, again? i thought they'd pivoted to white guilt?

it is still very funny to me that rook goes "yay! the life force of an Elven God ™️ must hold the veil. to do that, i have taken solas, the guy who very notably and repeatedly said he is not a god, and he is not immortal, and i put him in the veil, with several grievous injuries as well as a stab wound to the chest. this will surely last. the day is saved 😌👍"

my brother in andraste... he is bleeding out. that guy is done. the egg is cracked. it's joever. if he couldn't magically heal up all his other injuries, he is presumably not capable of healing the stab wound, and doing some sort of... self-managed thoracic surgery in the fade is even less plausible. the veil falls in like a day and a half 😭

also i am BAFFLED that weekes genuinely wrote that "lol were they doing it?" bit on purpose. after the masked empire, where ostensibly the whole thesis is "it's fucked up for a very powerful empress to be sleeping with her servant/agent and getting the agent to compromise their morals for her". like truly. forget the manosphere jokes and comedic tone. if you genderswap solas/mythal, it would come off as inappropriate and concerning at best, and genuinely abusive at worst? these bioware gender politics are truly something.

Concepts like sex magic and fertility deities in fantasy are actually really interesting to me as a person with a lot of interest in anthropology and mythology like Yes I am curious about the weird sex that elves have but its pretty much exclusively explored by authors who are Weird Horny Dudes and forget about putting that stuff into a d&d campaign
