Thor’s eyebrows raised. “Seems the trio is back together.” He commented. “I’ve been okay--other than this shit predicament I’ve found myself in currently.” It was just his luck he supposed. Spend loads of time preparing what you’d say when you caught up with your siblings, only to have your plan unfolded by your exercise regimen. “Look...” He sighed. How to say this? “I’m sorry, really. I should have tried to see if you guys were okay. As you can tell I’ve pulled my head out of my ass and realized I was an absolute dick. Neither you nor Lukas deserved that.” He trailed off, his voice growing quiet until his lips sealed. Thor could feel his chest tighten.
fernfleet.
Thor tilted his head slightly. He couldn’t exactly place the voice or face, but the manner of speaking had him thinking he knew this person. “No way.” He shook his head. “Didn’t think I’d ever see you again. You look so different, but in a good way, I suppose.” He tried to muster a smile. This moment was something he’d been anticipating for a while–preferably under better circumstances–but it came sooner than expected. Thor hesitantly shifted his wait and brought his arm around her. “How’ve you been?” He murmured quietly.
A smirk spread across Sylvie’s lips as she saw the look of gradual recognition, thankful that she didn’t have to explain to the other that she was once his younger brother. “I suppose the world is a smaller place than we both thought.” She mused. The compliment she was provided made her feel oddly pleased, but she declined to admit that fact. “You look… bigger.” She snorted as she allowed herself to help him brace his weight before scanning him over to make sure that he was alright — or at least physically. “I’ve been doing as fine as I can be, rather busy. How have you been?” She almost found herself stopping to ask how mom and dad had been, but she refused to show she still cared. “Lukas moved to town as well, so it seems as if this is one big unintentional family reunion.”

The corners of his lips turned up shyly. “Yeah, me too.” He felt prideful that someone else was acknowledging it, happy that his hard work was paying off. “What about you? What’s your story?” Thor’s teeth caught his bottom lip. “If you’d like to share, that is.”
@fernfleet
“Yeah, well-” Thor paused, taking a gulp from his drink. “When you grow up not having to do anything for yourself, you turn out an absolute nointer. I had to humble myself when I moved here.” He sighed lightly, leaning on his elbows.
With a groan, she hides her face with her hands. "Someone is laughing at me because men like you are constantly in my life, and I don't want that!" She states with a shake of her head, thinking back to two men that she disliked for their own different reasons. "I'm glad you at least learned to be better."

Thor gave a smirk. “You’re just jealous that I don’t have to rely on thunder to know when a storm is moving in.” He lifted his arm slightly, indicating his want to spin his dancing partner. “So, did you think a meeting at the bar would bring us here?”
@fernfleet
With a shake of his head, Thor let out a hearty laugh. “I’m sorry, the height difference has killed me for a little while now.” Standing more straight to prove his point, he smiled warmly at Mare. “C’mon, I’m sure you could jump high enough for sports. You’ve certainly got the fire for it.”
Mare only glares in response as she reaches over to poke his chest. "Jokes on you, frankenstein, if it rains, you'll be the first to know." Mare remarks as she smirks, avoiding letting him know that she'd technically be able to know when a storm was coming, she could feel it in her veins as easily as the lightning that coursed through it. "I was never much into sports, other than running."

Thor buried his face in his hands. “My fucking luck. Can’t really show up to work at a gym with a sprain, eh?” He teased lightly. “Thank you though, you’ve no idea how glad I am that I wasn’t the only person out here. Even better that you’re smart enough to carry supplies.” His shoulders bounced as he laughed. It was his attempt to distract himself. Strangely, he’d never sprained his ankle before now, but damn did it hurt.
fernfleet / thor & addison.
Thor shook his head, grimacing slightly. “It hurts too much to even touch it to the ground.” He leaned back, cocking his head to look around for benches. A breath of relief left him as he spotted one. He attempted to scoot backwards, nearly falling in the process. “Would you bring your kit, please?”
addison tried her best to hide her concern as the other further described the extent of the pain that he was in. “ alright, i’ll be back in a jiffy & then hopefully i can help you take care of this. ” she reassured him before jogging as quickly as possible to her car before returning to his side with her first aid kit. she proceeded to easily kneel down beside him & open the kit, rummaging through her supplies. “ sounds like to me that you might have a minor sprain. but we need to stabilize it so that you can get it checked out by someone more qualified than me. ” even if she had dealt with a sprained ankle in the past, she had no clue how to determine further damage.

Grace’s eye brows knitted together sympathetically. “I understand, trust me.” She fiddled with her belt loops, chewing the inside of her lip slightly. “When my dad left, I wanted nothing more than to run. To where or what, I didn’t know, but it was liberating. I hope you guys are okay. Good people like you don’t deserve stuff like that.” Silently, she thought of her aunt. Death could change people in unimaginable ways.
GRACE
Grace plunked the radio back on her belt, beginning their walk with a stride. “No need to make it up, I don’t mind.” She beamed. “It’s nice to meet you, Sansa. I’m Grace.” She tipped her hat back, allowing the sun to give her a better view. “So, does your sister run off often?”
even though the other insisted it wasn’t necessary to make it up to her, sansa secretly vowed to find some way to make the other’s day in the future. “pleasure’s all mine, grace. you’re basically like my guardian angel in the middle of the park.” she teased, nose crinkling slightly. she nodded her head at the other’s question, “unfortunately… i mean she’s always been reckless and adventurous, but after the death of our parents that only seemed to awaken a further rebellious side in her. she sees a line and immediately wants to cross it.” she shook her head slightly in a disapproving manner.

@fernfleet
A chuckle bubbled through Thor’s chest. “Yes, another drink would be nice, thank you.” His face slowly returned to its normal complexion, the embarrassment slipping away. “I like to think of myself as being more charismatic. To be fair though, I used to be a fucking dick.”
With a nod, Mare gets him another drink and leans on the counter. "No problem, and I can definitely see the charismatic." She muses with a snort. "Used to be seems the operative part of that statement."

His hands fumbled to grasp at the leash his now determined cat was connected to. “It would appear she has already located them.” Viago chuckled. Amethyst pushed on, bee lining for the counter. “Thank you again, I’m sure it’s not every day an 11 pound cat prances through the store like it’s her own home.” He teased. Truly, it did remind him of her rather needy behavior at his house. Never was there a moment she didn’t want something.
fernfleet / viago & kiara.
Nodding, Viago grinned. “Thank you. She’s certain that she just has to have some and I can’t tell her no.” He chuckled. The Maine Coon cat purred softly as she rubbed against the worker’s ankle. “There she goes–she’s trying to win you over. Really, she thinks she constantly needs doted on.” He grew notably embarrassed as he realized that his words made it seem that his cat was his whole life. She was a good chunk of it, undoubtedly, but he had other people.
a soft laugh escaped kiara as she shook her head slightly in amusement. ❛ i can’t blame you, i would have the hardest time saying no to a face like that. the meowing & purring just adds to my weakness. ❜ she was thankful that her fish & turtle couldn’t necessarily suck up to her because she would have spent her entire paycheck on them at this point. her smile widened the moment the cat purred & rubbed against her ankle, allowing herself to bend down slightly & run her hand across the cat’s back. ❛ she’s definitely already won me over. would you like some treats for her ? we have a bunch upfront that are free for shoppers. ❜ maybe she also wanted an excuse to offer some treats to the cat as well.

Viago grabbed a hundred dollar bill out of his wallet, holding it out to his cat’s new friend. “Of course! And thank you. I’m a firm believer in having a second chance at life. When I moved to America, I knew I’d adopt a pet. Amethyst just so happened to be a cat that had been returned a couple of times, so I figured, why the hell not?” Shoving his wallet back in his pocket, he flashed a smile. “Please, for whatever you need for the shelter.”
fernfleet.
Viago gave a smile as he watched Amethyst bat at the toy. “I’m sure she really appreciates it, thank you. Could I offer to buy some toys for the cats at your shelter?” He reached in his pocket, fishing out his wallet. “It makes me feel sad that so many animals are in shelters, but the least I could do is try to help. This little lady was a shelter kitty, so I’m sure she agrees.” He lightly jiggled the leash attached to his feline friend.
Luke blinked in surprised at the offer that the man provided him with before a smile overtook his features. “That’s… an incredibly sweet offer. It’s kind of hard to deny, but I also don’t want you to feel pressured.” He always felt awkward when it came to accepting kind gestures. Maybe it was because no one but his sister had ever shown him kindness? “I agree with you, so many animals are just abandoned without any care. It breaks my heart and makes me want to take them all home with me, but I think my sister would kill me.” He chuckled as he ran his fingers through his slightly messy hair. “But allow me to thank you personally for adopting and not shopping, she’s a beautiful cat.”

Nodding, Viago chuckled. “Oh, I understand exactly what you mean. This beauty claws through scratching posts like they’re make of cheap plastic.” He reached down, fondly running a hand along her back. “Do you have a cat as well--or a dog, maybe?” The man nervously muttered. He hadn’t met many people in Sparkwood since his arrival and he wasn’t sure when the opportunity would arise again.
fernfleet:
A smile spread across Viago’s face. “She certainly thinks so. Though, I’m sure the attention will have her forgetting about cat nip.” He laughed. Amethyst pulled softly on the leash as she attempted to curve around her new friend’s leg, stopping when she felt resistance. “Ah, here sweet girl.” Viago muttered as he unclipped the harness. Sure enough, she continued to rub all over the stranger. “I hope she’s not smothering you with too much attention; she craves any kind of affection. I probably spend hours every day just petting and brushing her.”
“Hm,” Cal hummed, cooing down at the feline. “We both have that in common… I crave any kind of affection as well,” he chuckled, scratching under the her chin before straightening back up as he stood. “I would hate to distract you from your catnip mission,” he teased. “I can hardly even bring my fur baby in here without him trying to grab everything. The minute his eyes land on a toy, he thinks he has to have it. Though, they never last long… I’ve even tried getting those indestructible toys and he hates them.”

Thor shifted his weight, lifting to grab his phone out of his pocket. “I do have compression socks, fortunately.” Many times he’d had to lend some to a client of his, so the man had invested in some himself. He typed his address in to the maps app and handed Cal the phone. “It’s in The Shire. 23rd house.”
fernfleet:
Thor hauled himself into the truck, careful not to accidentally squish anything he could have landed on. “Thank you, Cal. I’m Thor.” He gratefully took the water, chugging it so fast he feared he might throw up. Luckily, this was not the case. “To be honest, I’d rather just go home and mope in my bed. I cannot believe this shit happened. I’m lucky you happened to be going by or I’d have been stuck.”
“Thor? It’s not everyday you hear that name,” he chuckled softly. “I like it… it’s nice to meet you, Thor.” When settled into the drivers seat, he paused to peer over at the older man. “I don’t blame you,” Nevada chuckled softly as he turned the keys in the ignition, letting the old truck roar to life. “Better keep that on ice and elevated when you get home. If you have any compression socks, that’ll help it as well.” He started backing out of his parking spot, “Okay, Thor. Where am I going?”

Viago laughed. “Yes, I believe shew would certainly agree that she should be treated as a goddess.” His eyebrows pulled higher on his face. “Oh no, she’s quite intelligent. I just have her on the leash because I don’t want her to chase squirrels and such if I take her outside.” He curled his fingers under the Maine Coon’s chin. “Besides that, she knows the cat basics: sleep all day, meow for more food, and play unrelentingly.”
fernfleet
Viago grinned at the white feline. “Aww, how sweet.” He leaned down and scooped up his own cat, cradling her in his arms. “She doesn’t mind. She’s a bit of a diva but she’s as friendly as can be.” As if proving his point, Amethyst began to purr rather loudly. “I’m sure you heard, but this gray girl here is Amethyst– named so because she believes that she’s a luxury.”
bucky couldn’t help his laugh at the meaning behind the other cat’s name — a universal cat trait. “i think there’s a reason why the egyptians always made cats out to be gods or something,” he joked lightly. he scratched his cat’s head. “i’ve never seen a cat on a leash before, though. i imagined it’s impossible to actually train a cat to do anything but where the food bowl is and when you usually feed it.”

Shaking his head, Thor chewed his bottom lip. “No. You’ll find I’m not great at sports. Don’t really like to be competitive.” His body swayed in time with the music drowning out the rest of the crowd. “What about you? Got any game?” He chuckled.
Mare’s eyebrows shoot up in surprise as she laughs and shakes her head. “Then I guess, too bad for them considering you’d probably be the best candidate.” She muses and makes a face. “With sports? No, and you can obviously see that I’m tiny so basketball and volleyball are out of the question.”

A soft smile spread across Viago’s face. “I’m glad she can be a friendly face for you.” It brought him a sense of joy that his furball could provide comfort to someone other than just him. He let out a chuckle. “Well despite how desperate sounds, I promise she gets treats all the time. Is Mochi your cat, I presume?”
Oh, Amethyst. Viago was, metaphorically of course, putty in her paws. Some people had kids or their significant other; Viago had his darling cat. And so, he was walking down the sidewalk with his trusty companion on a white leash connected to a harness. Amethyst was pulling the man more than he was walking her–obviously eager to arrive at their destination. “Alright, alright. We’re here sweetheart, relax.” He chuckled.
Viago had never been to the pet store in Sparkwood. He grew quite anxious at the idea of stepping through the door, but allowed himself to smile as he did so. He’d barely had time to gather his thoughts before his furry friend pulled him deeper in to the store, meowing as she tried to force her way past another customer. “Amethyst!” He yelped. His eyes shot up to look at the stranger’s face. “I’m so sorry, she’s very excited to be here. She smells catnip, perhaps.” The feline chirped as if she understood.

Hesitantly, Thor licked his lips. “Alright. Bottoms up, I guess.” He chuckled dryly. He brought his drink to his lips, chugging it as fast as he could. In the back of his mind, he already knew a mistake had been made. Just as he began to drink his second beverage, his stomach began to ache. Thor slowed his process ever so slightly in the hopes that it would prevent him from any disaster set to occur.
fernfleet
Thor was just about to start drinking when he heard the voice of the person beside him. “I’m willing to wager you’re right, but I’ll bite. Got nothin’ better to do.” He grasped the man’s drink along with his own. “D’you wanna time it, or should I just go?” This had to be the worst idea. While Thor could hold his liquor, his stomach was not quite as strong as his ego. A wave of nervousness forced him to dry swallow.
brandon’s grin widened, beyond pleased that the other decided to take him up on the challenge. he easily relinquished his drink as he rested his cheek in his hand. “just go for it, i don’t care how long it takes as long as it isn’t over, like, a minute. as long as you don’t choke, then you win,” he said, giving the other enough wiggle room. or, at least, enough in his mind.

It was never a regular trip to the pet store for Calcifer, whether he was stopping in to buy dog food or a to buy a new toy after the last one he bought had been torn up. He always had to take a peek at all the animals, pausing more at the dogs and cats that were up for adoption. The man always contemplated adopting another, it’s been so long since he last owned a cat and now he’s really considering it. Though, today wouldn’t be the day.
Cal found himself browsing the aisles, picking up different items and placing them in a basket. He always spoiled Sparky and getting only one toy was never enough. “Oh, hello there,” he cooed when seeing the small feline, chuckling when hearing her soft chitter. Nevada kneeled down to scratch behind he cat’s ears. “No need to apologize. The catnip is worth it, isn’t it?” he cooed.

Thor let out a sigh of relief. “That would be great, thanks mate.” He, rather ungracefully, took the assistance offered to him. “It could just be that I’ve overworked it. Some ice would be fantastic.” The heat had his head pounding along with his ankle. It was very possible that it was the worst day this could have happened.
Despite, being smaller than the man, Cal nearly matched him in height. It wasn’t hard helping Thor back towards his truck, letting himself be used as a crutch. “Limber guy like you needs to stretch some more,” Nevada only teased. He let out a huff when they finally reached the vehicle, who knew he’d get a good workout after all. “You can take a seat in the truck,” Calcifer stated, opening the door for him as he went to find the first aid kit. “I’m Cal, by the way,” the stranger greeted as he handed over a bottle of water before finding the ice pack. “Would you like a ride to some emergency clinic, or do you just need a ride back home?”

Grace gave a polite grin. “Of course, I’m pretty much the opposite of busy.” She reached down for her utility belt, removing her radio and letting the other rangers on shift know she was leaving the area. “Let’s go see if we can find her, shall we?”
sansa was thankful to have some sort of guide, a look of gratitude evident on her features the moment the other began removing her belt and radio. “thank you again, i really appreciate it. i promise that i’ll make this up to you in the future.” she waited for the other to lead the way. “oh, i’m sansa by the way.”
