Weathervanes are used for the prediction of wind direction. The first weathervane was created like the Greek God Triton and mounted on the Tower of Winds in Athens. In ancient times these devices were very useful to show the wind’s direction and made with copper or brass. Moreover, the weathervane was larger in size than most weathervanes today.

Horse Weathervanes are alluringshowpieces that were used to know the direction and speed of the wind. These equestrian figures were highly preferred and popular in the late 1800s as it was the time when horses were the only transportation mode. This necessity later turned into an obsession when wealthy people started involving them in horse racing, polo, dressage and fox hunting, etc.
