Understanding

So today I went to this park in the Bronx cause my dad always plays basketball here and my mom, siblings, and I went to the playground. While my brother and sister were getting wet my mom and I saw this kid around the age of 6 who kept on walking around slightly screaming and moving his hands in the air. At first we thought he was just playing around with his sister but then we realized that he couldn't properly speak and when he moved his hands in the air he was making hand signals. Of course most of the kids at the playground didn't understand him and completely ignored him. It's then where the kid started playing around with my siblings and they didn't understand and we're starting to act like all the other kids. I went up to them and told them that he was making hand signals at them and trying to communicate with them. They realized that he couldn't properly speak and I made sure they didn't treat him any differently because of that. After that they started playing with him and getting wet and at one point the kid asked my brother for a high five and after my brother gave him one he hugged him and smiled. It was at that point that I started to cry because I loved watching the joy in the kid. He was running around with them with a big smile and his face shared an expression that he was finally happy that kids wanted to play with him and didn't ignore him. I sadly had to leave but I hope I see this kid again and see him playing with friends and I also wish him the best. The point of this is if you see kids like this please don't ignore them there are different ways to communicate and I can't live with the feeling of them getting ignored because they don't communicate like you guys would expect. They are like all of us and not different in any way and have no right to be ignored.
