I feel like I know the answers to many of these already, but I'm super curious about 16 and 35 for Nadia!

16. what is their best virtue?

Ngl I actually had to sit and think about this one 😅 I would say determination right off the bat. Nadia doesn't believe she can fail by her own doing, and she makes sure she is meticulous with her planning. She also actually very self-assure in her way. She knows what she's capable of and utilizes it to her best abilities, knows her strengths and how to achieve what she wants. Her success as a villain career has surprised her more than once. (We don't talk about the latter half of book 2 lol)

32. if they could have any other superpower, what would they choose?

I don't think she would want to change her powers 🤔 She likes her telepathy and possession powers. If anything, she probably would choose maybe not to have any powers at all and be a regular human then a Re-Gene but it would have to be with amnesia. She rather just die than to know the experience of being a telepathic and then having it cut off, leaving her mindblind (aha!)

21. What is their philosophy?

Nadia's believes changes throughout her storyline I'm obsessed with it actually. When she first leaves the Farm she only believed in survival, nothing long term. Her brain stuck to survival mode for the longest time as Sidestep, even influencing her fighting method. Hence why she was a better tactician than a straight-up fighter. It was only with the help of Ortega and Anathema that she just began to maybe feel safer, like she can do this. Like she could maybe put the worries of the Farm behind her once and for all.

Until Heartbreak happened

The fear of having all your worst fears come true the very moment you convinced yourself that it would never happen basically fucked her up for life lol. Her second stay at the Farm with the added experiments killed all hope she had ever had, poisoning even her old relationships, twisting them into reflections of the Farm's ideologies enforced on her.

When she escaped, Nadia's only philosophy was that only she has her own back, everyone will screw her over, and the best defense is to eliminate the Farm forever. Throughout the events of book 1 and book 2, Nadia's beliefs and philosophy get challenged by learning the actual faces of her old friends and new, and its a whole struggle for her to relearn new information and challenging her deep-rooted paranoid beliefs. Homegirl threaded herself with paranoia.

27. what qualities might someone appreciate about them? what would drive someone away?

Nadia has always maintained her curiosity, a trait she developed even before decanting. Her one joy in life is learning new things, new experiences, so she never says no to anything. That's how she learnt to sing karaoke, to dance, and how to walk around the store and pocket candy bars without anyone realising. This also extends to constantly challenging her worldviews as well. She would actually do good in therapy if it wasn't for her paranoia constantly painting over the same picture over the cracks in her brain. And her puns aren't that bad! However, she doesn't share knowledge herself. She tends to keep collecting and hoarding information while being stingy in giving them out herself. Added onto the fact that she's sarcastic, pushes people away by default, doesn't think twice to manipulate people and things around her for her own benefit. She has more reasons to drive people away and to attract them, RIP girl.

Hot take but I really do think that some of y’all need to consider how/why/when/how often you’re making fun of straight people for being straight

I do it too, I’m not going to pretend I don’t make jokes about the hets, or the down with cis bus, or whatever

But I recently befriended a cis, straight dude and I have watched him be dismissed, degraded, and unambiguously insulted for the perceived “crime” of being straight — all in queer environments where he is allegedly “completely welcome” and surrounded by “friends”

This guy is not a toxic person! But I have seen him be made to feel so small and like his comfort and safety in those spaces are conditional on his silence and acceptance of being treated like a human dunk zone, and I think that some of y’all have had so much shit from straight/cis people that the second you feel like you’ve got an inch, you want to luxuriate in the perceived catharsis of bullying someone who— actually —doesn’t deserve it

And until he very, very carefully mentioned to me in private that it makes him feel bad, I didn’t even clock that I was involved in doing that, that it had become so instinctive for me to make casual jokes like that, and that— well meaning or otherwise —I had been contributing to an environment that made someone I really really like feel like shit

So, I dunno, I think maybe some of y’all should think about that too
