But money is merely an arbitrary store of value. It is not value itself.
There are many stores of value in life. Time is a form of value. Knowledge is a form of value. Happiness and other positive emotions are a form of value. Money is often just the vehicle of interchanging these various forms of value with one another.

The real value of money emerges when we leverage it as a tool towards our success rather than making it success itself. When we channel it towards the experiences and values that we find more important. When we use it to build an innovative business, when it fuels our creativity or infuses our community, when it supports our family or shares love with our friends or adds to our personal health and satisfaction.

As you grow old, you learn more. If you stayed at 22 you’d always be as ignorant as you were at 22. Aging is not just decay, it’s growth. It’s more than the negative that you’re going to die, it’s also the positive that you understand you’re going to die and that you live a better life because of it.
Yes but if aging were so valuable, why do people always say if i were young again. You never hear them say i wish i was 65.
You know what that reflects? Unsatisfied lives. Unfulfilled lives. Lives that haven’t found meaning. Because if you’ve found meaning in your life, you don’t want to go back. You want to go forward, to see more, to do more.

"Spiritual materialism is rampant & a life filled with spirit is a rarity. I don't care how many crystals you have, how vegan your food is, or whether your Venus is in Jupiter since the last time you blamed your problems on the moon. If the way we carry and express ourselves condemns others while lifting ourselves, then we're as off-target as the people we're condemning. I drink with the thinkers and smoke with the preachers & I've never met a good man that believed he has the answers. Let your personality be your greatest work of art, and let your actions weave a thread of unity. Laugh at the voice(s) in your head, befriend your ego before you listen to that bullshit that tells you to destroy it. That's McDonald's spirituality -- even attempting to get rid of ego means you want to avoid this and move towards that -- creating more of the same inner conflict you're trying to avoid. Inner silence and enviable peace doesn't come from the avoidance of life as it is, It comes from moving as deeply into life as you can. The only way out is in & the only way beyond is through." Loves Bryan Ellis

Angelou admitted that she didn’t become what she was despite her early trauma, she became what she was because of it. When she wrote, she said she wrote over her scars—scars that only she could see and touch and feel.

FOMO is a compulsive desire to experience something (or be somewhere) motivated not by what you gain, but rather by the fear of what you will potentially lose. And this idea of loss is usually (OK, almost always) imagined.
In hindsight, I wasn’t motivated by the joy of seeing something great. I was motivated by the fear of not seeing something great.

The goal of Life is simple: it is to Level Up as much as possible. Each Level in life presents a particular challenge that you must overcome. Once you overcome that challenge, you get to move on to the next Level. The goal is to complete as many levels as possible. At the end of the game, the person at the highest level gets to have the best funeral.
There are five levels in life:
Level 1 – Find food; find a bed to sleep in at night
Level 2 – Know you’re not going to die
Level 3 – Find your people
Level 4 – Do something that’s important and valuable to both yourself and others
Level 5 – Create a legacy

For people who are used to eating meals that have a lot of different ingredients and that require a lot of fancy food prep
the idea of eating nothing but pineapple might seem bland and boring, but to me the idea of eating all the pineapple that
I want is pure heaven, and while it can be wonderful to eat a meal that your mother spent a lot of time and energy
creating for you it can also be wonderful to eat a meal that "Mother Nature" spent a lot of time and energy creating for
you...
- I got into the raw food diet because I wanted to eat more "naturally".
- I got into the vegan diet because I wanted to eat more "ethically".
- I got into mono eating because I wanted to eat more "simply".
Better quality and in season food

But the fact that I’m most easily given the information that confirms my fears and quells my insecurities—this is the problem. This same network of systems designed to make me feel good every time I open my laptop is the same network of systems that is disconnecting me—disconnecting us—from the rest of our country and often from reality itself.

Life is an economy. Where everything must be traded for something else and the value of all things rise and fall with the amount of attention and effort you put into them. And in that economy, we each must eventually choose what you’re willing to trade based on what you value. And if you’re not careful with your values, if you are willing to trade things away for the sake of another hit of dopamine, another temporary trip to your own personal psychological 10, then chances are you’re going to fuck things up.
