I feel like more people should know about the Filipino phrase bahala na si Batman. quite literally, it means it's up to Batman. on a more figurative level, it means that you're leaving something to God/fate - metaphorically represented by Batman, of course.
big event that you haven't prepared for but you're going anyway? bahala na si Batman. major exams coming up and you haven't reviewed yet? bahala na si Batman. about to do anything remotely risky/luck-based? bahala na si Batman.
anyways, I just think it's hilarious that Batman is now a part of our culture through this saying. is this a thing in other cultures/languages too? let me know!
I love that Aziraphale didn't just miracle them a free table-- he influenced a five foot horseshoe of free space around Crowley's half of it at midday in a wall-to-wall crowded pub so his snake husband would have room to lounge.
Something something the way that Crowley introduced himself to Aziraphale the first time they met in the garden and reacted as if they had never met before. Something about him later behaving as if he did actually have those memories of their time in Heaven together and trying to pass it off as being someone different now. Something about Heaven's way of punishing angels that go against the plan by erasing their memories. Something about Crowley seeing Gabriel without his memory and saying "ask him properly." Something about "remember it now" "it hurts, to remember. my head isn't built for that" "I know. Do it anyway"
Something about "I know. Looking at where the furniture isn't"
no but it's the way for aziraphale "nothing lasts forever" meant "i'm willing to give up the bookshop if it means i can be with you safely" and for crowley it meant "nothing lasts forever, not the bookshop, not earth, not us"
Emotional again about how Ed and Stede are just so right for each other. They balance each other out so well.
Stede was born to be a romantic and he had no one to romance. Ed was born to be wooed and was stuck in a culture that heavily mocks emotional vulnerability. Stede wants to feel useful and valued. Ed wants to feel treasured. They both want space to play and explore and learn more about themselves, and they meet each other where they're at, the first people to truly accept each other with no expectations.
Their first meeting always hits so hard. They mesh so well right away. It's like you can feel how drastically their lives are going to change with each other in it, and they don't even know the half of it yet.
I love how humans have literally not changed throughout history like the graffiti from Pompeii has people from hundreds of years ago writing stuff like “Marcus is gay” “I fucked a girl here” “Julius your mum wishes she was with me” and leonardo da vinci’s assistants drew dicks in their notebooks just for the banter and mozart created a piece called “kiss my ass” so when people wish for ‘today’s generation’ to be like ‘how people used to’ then we’re already there buddy we’ve always been
