What led her here could only be described as a pure strive to understand what transpired, and why the young hunters affiliated with her dear friend decide to join the seniors. Seeking if the chimera ants, who had human blood in their mix, truly had sympathetic qualities or not.

Falling down to a kneel, her small body trembled from the sheer force of their en. Her heart did race unbearably as well, but, her studious, almost blank expression, did not fade. After all, Melody had entered into a predator's circle - more specifically, it was akin to stepping in front of a giant mountain lion.

It held similarity to a scene so long ago, to whence she had been given new knowledge of the toxic taste of the devil's bloodlust.

"I can hear yours too," Melody adjusted herself to a sitting position on knees.

"To be honest, it almost sounds the same as mine. Clinging to hope of survival, yet all too painfully aware that life is shortening."

Neferpitou had already heard someone come a little to close. They already felt the presence without the help of their monstrous nen. Who knew why she had come a little to close. Whether it was the oddity of the chimera, or by simply being in the wrong place the wrong time.  Perhaps it was the corpse of the nen user lying beneath their feet. Unfortunately for her, their en would be released, atmosphere getting heavy and suffocating as it spread around. Not to terrify the small girl, but to see whether or not she had more hunters with her. It wasn’t their fault it traumatized those without resolve.     

“ I can hear your heartbeat. ” It was like the pulse of a little mouse, in comparison to the chimera. They turned to her calmly, tail swaying in idle curiosity as they tilted their head to the side as they observed her. Unnervingly unblinking. At least, they weren’t showing any signs of wanting to attack her. Not yet. “ Are you afraid? ”

She does not celebrate the same holidays as the world around her doesー thus, often never has the opportunity to experience them with any mainland friends.

It does not bother her as one would think, however. Perfectly fine with listening in on the joyous hearts around her during this time, Melody prepares to be bundled well enough, and her tributed song, for the upcoming Winter Solstice.

🌷;; she knew she was putting herself at a huge risk for doing this for the twins but she did it anyways bc she wanted them to survive but it was ultimately pointless and i am Upset 😭

Adjusting the brim of her hat, Melody practically retorts in her usual softened voice. "It seems you're not aware that we share no relevance whatsoever, and that point you made was unnecessary."

Spiders brought out the worst in her; their heinous dissonance bringing about a certain influence to her -

their lack of hesitation to die for their greedy little cause. How could monsters such as these, have any semblance of a soul left, if not only for each other?

She'd rather not listen to Kortopi's heart any longer than needed to. This is a solo scouting mission, and no intrusions were wanted by the small bodyguard in question, hinted by the growing impatience within her flow of aura.

Melody needed not to turn either; the mixture of his poor apathetic beating heart, and aura, was recognition enough since she’d already had the misfortune of encountering it more than once.

‘Dislike’ would be an understatement.. when you’re forced to wonder between each note how on Earth can it be possible to care so little for life outside your own web.

“Is a spider’s life really so dull, that you must follow a simple girl to feel some sort of shift in pace?”

  Meanwhile, Kortopi’s way of identifying her from the crowd was much more based in survival than anything else. Though the shift in the air from her approach indicated a person short in stature, the actual footsteps were heavy, a composition of the body that was rather unusual and distinct to the Music Hunter — and just as if he were wondering if it could be someone else, his suspicions were confirmed by the shift in her aura. Subtly tensing, preparing to retaliate should anything come her way. The Spider’s aura flashed back, exerting the same level of caution as he was given and filling the air with a tension that even the non-Nen users all around them seemed to sense, resulting in a ripple of collective unease that held the two of them at the core.

  His head tilted to face her, ever-so slightly.

  ”I wasn’t following you. I’m here on orders… I was simply remarking that we appear to have a common goal once again.”
