Hestia resisted the urge to roll her eyes, unconvinced by his claim. “Your arrogance does you no favors. You might be a genius, but that does not make you, or any other Ravenclaw, immune to practical jokes.” The brunette smiled, “All of my friends know to be cautious when I am around, but that does not save them from the inevitable.”

Hestia moved her elbow and gave the girl a gentle nudge, “Are you kidding? That bracelet was practically made for you. You are right about one thing though-- it is priceless. Mother said it belonged to a princess, but she could just be bragging.” Her eyes flickered over Alecto, hoping to garner a positive response.

“You shouldn’t be worried about my ability to keep my mouth shut.” He turned his back, prepared to go on with his walk, but his interest for pranks couldn’t let him walk away without knowing any part of the girl’s joke. Without turning around, he put a big smile on his face and asked the little prankster. “Actually, my mouth is going to stay sealed as long as you tell me what are you going to do.”

Hestia gave her head a shake. Her smile extended, later amused by his curiosity. “Is that a promise? I have brought a box of bulbadox powder with me. My friend, Garrick, thought it would be funny to switch my shampoo with honey. I thought it would be funny to lace his suit with this stuff before his big date tonight.”

looking at the bulbadox power, the lion raised her eyebrows, the fact she was impressed easy to see in her eyes. “i’ll count my lucky stars that you did quit.” the muggleborn witch never took her bad mood out on other people, she hated doing it but she was far too tired to care. “i knew that you didn’t need one. i’m just tired, i haven’t slept very well.” she answered, running a hand through her messy curls.

Her expression softened, unable to fight her concern. Hestia was empathetic in most situations. She preferred to isolate more serious emotions, but found it impossible to leave someone in sorrow. “You should be resting then, MacDonald. Is there a reason for your sleep deprivation, or was it just one of those nights?” Her head tilted, eyeing the girl in a curious fashion.

“Your aunt sends her regards,” the brunette chimed. Hestia approached her cousin, offering a parcel her mother forwarded from Egypt. It was another bracelet, tied together with a ribbon. “Apparently, their excavation is going to take longer than expected. I guess that means more gifts for us.”

“Any chance I can convince you to look the other way? I am trying to pull one over on a friend before they get back from the pitch.” She spoke honestly, smiling all the while.

normally mary didn’t care much for rules, she always wanted to let someone get into some sort of trouble but her mood was foul and that meant the brunette wasn’t feeling up for letting someone get away with a prank. “then i’ll find you a tutor. what subject is it for?” her question came out with attitude, arms crossed over her chest. “i don’t believe you really need to get to the tower for a tutor, so yeah, i’ll interfere.”

The slytherin rolled her eyes, finally bringing the bulbadox powder into view. “You are lucky that I know when to quit,” she stated bluntly. Hestia had planned to gain revenge on one of her mates, but their tiff was not worth aggravating Mary MacDonald. “No need to find a tutor, but you should consider getting yourself some tea. You seem on edge today.”

“hestia, i don’t know if i’m believing that you just want to find a tutor. you could easily ask slughorn to get you one?” mary questioned, an eyebrow raised as she looked at the slytherin witch. “i don’t think i can let you head up towards the ravenclaw tower.”

Hestia sighed, relaxing her posture and setting a hand on her hip. “Slughorn is busy enough, I would feel terrible for inconveniencing him.” She looked over the brunette’s shoulder, worried she would be unable to convince the girl. “Are you really going to interfere with my education?”

“I assure you, my intentions are pure.” Hestia attempted to persuade her classmate, all the while hiding a box of bulbadox powder behind her back. “I am looking for a tutor and Ravenclaw Tower seemed the best place to start.”
