For @theinariakuma He didn't drink but she does. She does and he knew exactly what she drinks and how she likes them. He can tell easily what kind of day it has been by what she asks for.
On the rocks means today was busy but it ended well. Sweet drinks meant the day went well and was relatively uneventful. Stronger stuff mixed meant it was a busy and had been rocky - up in the air. The hard stuff straight? She was at the end of her rope.
Those night he would discreetly shut it all down - shoo everyone out with a pointed glare or scowl. Eventually it would be just them and if she drank a bit too much he didn't say anything. He just let her drink then when she was done, he would be there.
Discarding his towel, as she stood, tipsy and a little wobbly - his hand gently guided her arm around his neck and scooped her up effortlessly. Even if she murmured slightly slurry protests, he simply shook his head and carried her upstairs to the rooms above the bar. They were part of his home - the extras rarely used; though he did keep one at the ready for her, cleaned and aired.
Diluc helped her ready for bed. Starting first with her hair freeing it with gentle care and combing through it with his fingers, allowing them to massage her scalp. Then came all the adornments - belts and baubles that would make sleep difficult. Kneeling he rested her boot against his thigh, working at the fastenings and laces; first the left then the right.
Her protests are still there but weaker now as the alcohol hits her system in full. Her face is flushed and she looks small vulnerable right now. It makes his heart ache. Setting her boots aside, he coaxed her into the bed properly after that; crooning softly at her to get her to lie down. He tucked her legs under the blankets helping her arrange herself into a comfortable position.
After he the blankets up near her shoulders, he brushed the tips of his fingers against her forehead; brushing her bangs aside. A soft sigh slipped past his lips. "What am I to do with you, hm?" He spoke softly as he watched the even rise and fall of her chest; slow, steady, peaceful. He could tell she was on the border of sleep and awake; he could speak freely, she wasn't likely to remember. "You make me want to be a different man, a better one - one I was once. Only like this do I dare give that truth to anyone - to you." He drew away quietly killing the light.

As It Began so it Ends
"Always." He whispered as they laid in the field of wildflowers."No matter what I'll always be here." He whispered as he squeezed her hand gently. He knew it could be scary, such a change in her life. "No matter what. I'm on your side even if we're not together - I'm always on your side."
The cry that ripped from his throat was raw and anguished. Lily. Not Lily. Please, Merlin no. He can't breathe. He can't - the air felt like it was sucked from his lungs from the room and everything tilted as he stumbled to her, gathering her limp, lifeless body close. Not like this. With a shaking hand he lifted his wand sending off he patronus to Dumbledore.
The boy. The boy looked exactly like James but his eyes. He had Lily's eyes. Lily's eyes stared at him from behind those ugly glasses and it was like some part of her was back. Some part of what had been lost to him for years had come back - a blessing an a curse. He could breathe again but it hurt. Salazar did it hurt. He hadn't been able to protect Lily but he would do his best for her son.
'Always,' he tells Dumbledore as they’re in his office after a white hot rage flares through him. Keeping Lily's son alive just so he could die doesn't sit well with him. Letting that precious last living connection with Lily was that something outside of himself be extinguished seems so wrong. So very wrong.
Laying here dying, his eyes are focused on Harry's eyes - Lily's eyes. He wanted them to be the last thing he saw in life. His breathing was labored, poison surging through his body; burning like fire. Even if it hurt. It wasn't so bad and he wouldn't have to watch Harry die. Death was surprisingly merciful to him.
"Sev! It took you long enough!" A teenaged Lily Evans teased as she tugged at his hand. "I've been waiting for you!"
"Waiting? For me" Severus asked confused. Hadn't he been older? Dying? Flames running through his entire being? Now here is Lily in a flowing summer dress pulling him to her.
"Always."

I know that you’re someone I never want to lose - But are you the best thing to ever happen to me love Or the most ruinous drug that I could ever choose?

Someday, I will be a part of your history
Just a notation in parenthesis
Someone that you used to be.
