And just like that our documentary is already here!
The filming wrapped up 10 days ago, but then came the most challenging part - turning all the footage into one piece. Martin did an amazing job, putting a lot of effort and time into editing the film, and together with Augusta's directions, it turned into a fun, curious, but also slightly emotional story.
Working on the documentary gave us a clearer idea of how different the approach to it is than to a feature film and what its specifics are. Also, this project opened our eyes to the fact that not everything happens according to plan and not everything can be predicted. Documenting is more about going with the flow and making the most of what you are given.
We are glad that we were able to take you with us on this journey and that you witnessed our development over the last months. Here you can find our Electronic Press Kit and we would love to hear your thoughts on it.
See you around! x

Day 1 Documentary Shoot
We're planning to make a purely representative documentary that leads into a narrative structure. It must carefully avoid simply talking heads. Capturing the environment through staged cinematography, staged compositions to heighten what happens in private. We're planning to focus on one person (Augusta) and we follow her to incorporate a structured narrative that delves into silent activism through depictions of communal living. There is a background context: housing providers were forced to take fire precautions to meet safety regulations and it became a way of taking away personal property.
We will go to Augusta's house today and shoot for 4-5 hours.

Curtains Closing: A Glimpse into Our Final Shooting Day
It's a wrap! The cameras have stopped rolling, the lights have dimmed, and the final clapboard has echoed across the set. Our journey from script to screen is almost complete as we wrap up our final shooting day and draw closer to the finish line in the edit room.
This filmmaking adventure has been an incredible ride, filled with moments of pure exhilaration and creativity. We've shared laughter, brainstormed ideas, and watched our vision come to life, frame by frame. The process has been surprisingly smooth and enjoyable.
Of course, like any production, we've encountered a few bumps in the road. However, these challenges were more like friendly nudges that kept us on our toes rather than insurmountable obstacles. They pushed us to think creatively, collaborate closely, and find solutions that strengthened our project.
The end result is a closely guarded secret for now; we won't give any spoilers. But we're thrilled to share it with you once the editing process is complete.
So, stay tuned. We've been on an amazing journey, and it's almost time to share the fruits of our labor. Thank you for being a part of this adventure with us. We can't wait to show you what we've created.

Update #3 馃専鉁ㄢ瓙馃榿
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After plenty of heated debates and many ambitious creative changes in the heat of the moment we have managed to wrap up yet another scene. Shooting this scene has taught us to think flexibly when it comes to the resources that we have at our disposal especially when it comes to filming locations.
Sometimes planning doesn't work out but you have to do your best to work around the difficulties and combine everyone's efforts to get to the goal.
We had to improvise with creating a good setting which took quite a bit of shuffling furniture, lights and ourselves around but are quite enthusiastic about the results and very excited to get started on the editing soon.

Update #2
Hello everyone! This week, we made some major changes to the script in order to develop a coherent and nuanced narrative with three-dimensional characters. We also assigned production roles, explored our influences, created mood boards, and much more! We currently have:
Martin as Director
Augusta as Cinematographer
Adriana as Producer
Ignacio as Actor and Set Designer
Nimaye as Editor and Sound Recordist
Here are some of our fun influences!

You've Got Mail and Scream are both films that mesh genres to great comedic effect. You've Got Mail in particular is a great example of how the role of technology impacts relationships in various comic ways.
These, of course, are just starting points and as we build our script further we are coming to find different themes, problems, and concepts to work with!
We shall update you soon!

Hello there, This is Ignacio from Group 18 coming at you with our first update!
We have just finished doing a thorough read-through of the script with the entire cast and production team and have started to finalise its aspects and elements.
We are also making steady progress towards our pre-production and should soon begin production of our small film!
We are incredibly excited about it and can't wait for you to see it!

The "Making-of"
Hello fellow film enthusiasts and welcome to our blog!
We're Martin, Augusta, Nimaye, Ignacio and Adriana and we'll be taking you with us on our adventure over the upcoming weeks. Whether you're here by chance or quite purposefully, we'll do our best to immerse you in the process of making a feature film and show you the how-to step by step.
What you can expect from us is a remake of the well-known film Her (2013), starring the amazing Joaquin Phoenix. While the original version emphasizes the relationship between human beings and emerging technology through the lens of drama and romance, we're going to try to bring our radically different take on the subject matter to life. Whether it will be a thriller, western or comedy, we can't share that yet, but it will certainly be different and hopefully intriguing for our audience.
See you soon! x
