But, if you recognize well concerning the winch and its uses, you'll be able to use it safely — there are two styles of the magnet during a winch.
Permanent Magnet:
This magnet is cheaper
It has a lower current draw
This magnet loses power in the cold weather
More likely to overheat
Series Wound:
These magnets are more reliable
Theses magnets are more powerful
They can provide longer service
They have a higher current draw
Pros and Cons of an electric winch
Pros:
They are not high-expensive
Electric winches are widely available
It doesn't require the engine to be running
Easier to install them
Can be used in situations where you can't start the engine
They have a faster line speed
Higher quality winches are submersible
Cons:
They should only be run for a short time before cooling
Serious Draw on the electrical system
Can drain the battery very fast if it is used while the motor is shut down
The permanent magnet motors are sensitive to impacts
Some typical uses of an electrical winch
